Quick MLB.TV question

i remember last year mlb.com had a sale on all their items, and i believe people got a discount for mlb.tv as well... does anyone know if that same deal was offered this year? i know i have to buy the package soon and was hoping to get a "my team will lose often and i want to pay less because of it" deal.

Re: Quick MLB.TV question
All I know is that I received an email telling me that I'm automatically resubscribed to MLB Gameday Audio and they'll conveniently charge my credit card on March 1. Which is fine, since the price is the same as last year (It's worth the $14.95 just to listen to those Royals-Orioles games in 128kbps mono! Whenever I want!), but it would be nice if they allowed me to "opt in" rather than force people to "opt out" if they don't want it anymore.

I'm guessing MLB.tv is the same price as last year, maybe more.

There are not enough characters to say what happened here. I'm lucky to be here and looking forward to Giants baseball ... that's all I can say.

Re: Quick MLB.TV question
I am kind of wondering the same thing. I just moved to San Luis Obispo last summer and bought the last couple of months of MLB.tv. I am wondering what the best options are. I have charter cable so I don't know if MLBEI is available through them. I am also looking into a slingbox to set up at my parents house in Northern California. That way I can get my 49ers and Kings games as well.

Anyone familiar with slingbox? It sounds like the best option, I just don't know much about it or know anyone that has ever used it.

Re: Quick MLB.TV question
Is it just me or is San Luis Obispo full of McCoven?    Seems like I've been seeing a lot of love for SLO and for Cal Poly on here...which I guess I'm all for.

Re: Quick MLB.TV question
What's not to love about those of us who spent the best years of our life in SLO-town?  I say this assuming that you're already aware of our astonishing good looks, potent sexual reproduction capabilities, and money lined pockets.  We've got it all!

Go Mustangs! Go Correia!

Will someone please tell me why we get FSN Atlanta here, but not FSNBA?

Re: Quick MLB.TV question
I believe the Giants are well represented here in SLO which means they should carry FSN Bay Area but they don't. We get all the Dodgers and Angel games, which sucks.

Go Mustangs! It would be nice to have a McCoven meetup sometime down here. Maybe once the season starts at The Shack or Firestone where we can watch a game.

I'd like to hear a bit...
About slingbox as well.  I may even start a topic on it later in the year.  I'm thinking of just asking my parents to buy one of those for my birthday instead of anything else.  Anyone know the cost?  And is it that I could view whatever they are watching?  Or change the channel independently?

I've had one since I moved away for school
Best $100 investment ever. You hook it up to the cable box of any tv anywhere, download the slingplayer software to your laptop, computer, (even  mobile version for certain phones), and then voila, you get your remote as if you're controlling the box as if you're back home. The tv set at home stays off but you get the full picture on your screen as if you were there.

I think the newer slightly more expension version works with HD too and also allows multiple inputs so you can fanangle your DVR too.

Re: I've had one since I moved away for school
Agreed. I use mine while I'm at work or on a trip when I really need to watch something. It'll show up like streaming video on your comp, but one awesome tool.

I was wondering if anyone had the HD Connect cable and is it worth getting?

Re: I'd like to hear a bit...
You can change channels independently...They start out at 130.00 or so and go up from there depending if you want to capture an HD signal, etc.

My mom is like 128. Her complexion is a little rough, but other than that, Xmas is definitely good for socks, wallet with the cool girlfriend picture in it, and aftershave day.

Re: No..
I recently taught my Sims 2 toddler to walk, and he's going to automatically get into public school. I'm not going to teach him to talk, but that's his fault for crying every time he wakes up and wants to get out of his crib.

But does that count for something?

Re: Quick MLB.TV question
Has anyone tried XM Radio for listening to games? I had the MLB Gameday Audio last year, but I just got the portable Inno2 XM Radio to listen to the games. I was just wondering if anyone has tried it, and how they like it.

The only downfall that I can think of, is that you have to listen to the home team's announcers, instead of having the choice. Either way, I wont be tied to my laptop or the bar to listen to/watch games this year.

A coworker has that..
He says it is nice because he likes to listen to all the games, but he does complain about some of the announcers.
