Clemens on ESPN

Man, it's painful to watch him lie so boldly.  He's fumbling all over himself.

Just a thought...
As much of an ass I think Clemens is, remember how pissed off we were at everyone who said these sort of things when Bonds was living in the limelight (not Rush...just the spotlight)? We of all people should be able to hold off on comments until anything is proven.

We're just laughing now..
Because everything was "YOU DID STEROIDS" to Bonds and now it's "DID YOU DO STEROIDS" to Clemens.

Agreed. Although whatever it is they're saying about him is great because I don't think I've heard the name "Barry" in a month or two.

When the republican from Indiana gave MacNamee the "How dare you sully the reputation of a baseball Titan like Roger Clemens" speech I wanted to puke.

I don't recall Barry getting that type of defense from any congressman.

Re: Clemens on ESPN
IMO, we of all people have earned the right to say anything we want after enduring BB's crucifiction for so long when everyone knew that he wasn't the only one.  I say it is about time the spotlight was on someone else whose career is as storied and as controversial as Bonds' and who is as big a jerk as Bonds too (reportedly).  I also can't wait for the other teams to start taking some heat the way the Giants as a team do.

According to your sworn deposition, Mr. MacNamee, the barbeque sauce at the luncheon in question was vinegar-based.  However, we have the sworn statements of both Osvaldo Canseco and Derek Jeter that the sauce was mustard-based.  You sir are a liar!

I heard on KNBR the other day that Clemen's wife is some sort of fitness instructor or something, and she and her hubby were going to do some magazine shoot.  She wanted to look good for the shoot [I guess if you are a flabby fitness instructor you could lose a client or two] ... so to prepare for the shoot...she got herself a shot.

It's all just an elaborate prank, and any minute now Clemens is going to call out the secret camera guys, look Congress in the face and yell out "Yous just got Punk'd!" Then McNamee is going to take off his mask, it'll actually be Barry Bonds having a laugh, and everybody spends the rest of the day dancing under rainbows while drinking martinis with their pants off.

I know that everyone has their own opinion about who is telling the truth and who is lying inside that court room, but many of these representatives are making it just blatently obvious that they've already decided who is or isn't guilty.  Maybe I just dont get the point of this hearing, but it's like these reps think they're auditioning for a role on "Law and Order" and it's very amusing that everyone is trying so hard to be Perry Mason.  There will never be another Perry Mason!!!

I found long ago that I could win any game simply by invoking the suckiness of Matt Morris and/or his beard. I haven't lost at Monopoly, for instance, since I changed the purple properties to "Matt Morris Way." I haven't lost a game of Hearts since I started calling it "Beards."

Is Clemens arepublican?Does he donate insane amounts of money to their campaigns?

And lastly, when did he hire former Falcons Head Coach Jerry Glanville as his lawyer.

what a horrendous waste of time
what a horrendous waste of public resources. They're all a bunch of buffoons - The politicians.

Are there real issues that Congress needs to deal with in this country? YES. Steroids is near the bottom of the list, if it even makes the list. if this wasn't on TV, then these politicians wouldn't even bother. The only reason there doing this dog and pony show is get headlines, which the sycophant media, of course, is happy to oblige them with.

I hope that each of these Congressmen and women, the ones who are running for re-election in November go back to their districts and their constituents ask them about them why they thought that holding these hearings was more important than, say, making health care more affordable, lowering taxes, cutting wasteful government, fighting terrorists and making this country safer or whatever other issue you can probably think of.

What a colossal waste of fucking time and resources!

Bonds stands alone.

Re: Clemens on ESPN
I listened to about 20 minutes of steroid hearings on the radio today,
and the main conclusion I came away with is that Congress is full of
buffoons.  Every one of them wasted much of their five minutes of
questioning time.
  1.  Kept trying to pin McNamee down with false dichotomies.
  2.  Used up about three of her five minutes to ask a long winded
version of this question:  "You testified to us repeatedly that you
hadn't heard you'd been invited to be interviewed by Mitchell, but on
60 Minutes you told Mike Wallace that your lawyers told you not to go.
Which is it?"
  1.  Spent half his time stammering.
  2.  Pegged the meter on partisan questions.  Asked Clemens if he
"could still tell my boys that you played the game clean," followed by
asking him what hat he'd wear to the HOF.  Then he pummels McNamee
trying to get him to admit his testimony was motivated by a plea
bargain deal.

Unbelievable.  And these buffoons afraid to put anyone on trial who
can fight back.

Re: Clemens on ESPN
i heard a liberal talk show host today, attempting to justify these hearings as being more than congress attempting to get press and a sound bite on the nitely news.

she stated that congress has time for many different types of hearings, that baseball is big buisiness and that children across america look up to ball players and as such will use ped's to be like their heroes, and then will commit suicide as a result of the bad ped side effects

i am drafting a letter to demand that this host retract her statements.

there has been only one case of teen suicide connected to roids, and even in that case, the reason's for the suicide are questionable

roid rage is a myth. most bad side effects are caused when the user mixes ped's with other recreational and harmful drugs

today was a circus side show...plain and simple

I thought it was fascinating though. I couldn't get enough of it. How could anybody believe Clemens is telling the truth after the statements from Andy Pettitte and Chuck Knoblauch?? He'll probably win a court case though, because they'll be able to exploit the fact that McNamee is a liar too.
