OT: Phooey on Finals

By this time in the term your family is probably tired of hearing you gripe about school - mine sure is! So feel free to bitch, moan and complain here.

I'll start...

This term I had two of the worst classes I’ve ever had the displeasure of attending. My computer class seems to have grading criteria that changes with the wind. What was a 100% project one Thursday becomes a 0 the next Thursday.

The instructor for my speech pathology class goes off on more tangents than an SUV trying to make a 90ยบ turn!

Hooray for winter break!!! – hooray for different classes next term!!

Man, school, man. I wouldn’t mind being there these days.

I’m kind of working on my take home final for the City in Lit & Film, due Friday.

Middle East history final on Thursday.

End of History take home due Monday.

American Lit History III final on Tuesday.

Econ final next Wednesday.

I feel pretty good about all of it though, to be honest.

Tues: Econometrics
Feelin’ cocky about that one.
Thurs: Math for Economists
I better get a damn good grade, and that won’t be easy.

The Denker bus is now bound for San Diego. Those who were passengers on it are now angrily stranded at a gas station in Modesto, CA. Not much about baseball here .

I had two papers (~25 pages in total) due yesterday that were pretty hard, so I’m not really thinking about finals yet, plus one of them is take-home and will probably be easy. I do have grad school apps to work on though.

I finished up my screenwriting class last week. I turned in the first 22 pages of my screenplay for a final grade. Truthfully I hate screenwriting as a medium. I’m glad I tried it, though. Now I know I hate it.

Journalism final is tomorrow night. I have to turn in my project and take a quiz on the reading. This semester was pretty low-key, but I earned it after the last two semesters where I slaved through math and science classes.

I just finished my last final (a 300-question doozy about journalism grammar) last night and am now home. Happy days.

The bases were drunk, and I painted the black with my best yakker. But blue squeezed me, and I went full. I came back with my heater, but the stick flares one the other way and the chalk flies for two bases. Three earnies! Next thing I know, skipper hooks me and I'm sipping suds with the clubby.

NO MORE SCHOOL \o/

by Natto on Dec 10, 2008 12:55 AM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Yeah that’s what I thought when I graduated – MS Education CSU-Hayward… 1995 < gawd I’m old > … Then the economy started changing, and I realized I’d have to be one of those working retired people. I figured I needed to find something with high-demand, decent pay and less chasing, so I’m back in school, most usually bored to tears.

Returning to school in your 40’s is an interesting experience. You know, when I was in college…no one had cell phones! Now 80% of the student population is walking around chattering away. -and smoking-

by Merope on Dec 10, 2008 6:08 AM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I suppose I’ll go back to school if I decide I want to teach, but for now, I’m OK with what I’ve got so far.

High school finals

Yes, I’m a young’un. It being senior year and all, I decided to take it easy this year and only have 4 classes. I am so glad right now that I made that choice. Probably regret it in a year or two.
