Koji Uehara's agent in contact with Giants
He's a right-handed starting pitcher from the Yomiuri Giants. Anybody have any thoughts/info on this guy?

Looked pretty good 5 years ago…There’s a signing right up Sabes alley…
The bases were drunk, and I painted the black with my best yakker. But blue squeezed me, and I went full. I came back with my heater, but the stick flares one the other way and the chalk flies for two bases. Three earnies! Next thing I know, skipper hooks me and I'm sipping suds with the clubby.
uh oh
Because Uehara is past his prime (age 32) and has recurring groin and hamstring problems, some question how effective he will be long-term in the major leagues.
man, that sounds like just the kind of guy that will succeed with a major step up in competition

in exaggerated reaction land...
I laughed before I cried
¿Julio is tourist in San Francisco? Harper's Bizarre!
In 2007, due to injuries (and perhaps to limit is value as an MLB free agent), the Giants converted Uehara into a closer, a job in which he’s found success to date.
If his injury is what’s preventing him from being a SP (and it wasn’t a move to limit his value to MLB team’s like the article said), I don’t know why the Giants would be looking at him.
Here’s a blog dedicated to him, but it hasn’t been updated in over a year. http://www.ueharawatch.blogspot.com/
Grant seems pretty anxious about his FA status: https://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=36102921&postID=3973289626158072032

I agree with this comment from one of the links:
11月末に日本で川上と打ち合わせを行った同代理人は、本紙の取材に対し「現在、各球団の情報を集めているところ。オフは始まったばかりでFA市場にも大きな動きはない。全く心配はしていない」と話した。8日からラスベガスで始まるウインターミーティングで各球団の幹部と接触することを明かした。
本格交渉は今月中旬以降。サバシア、バーネット、ローらエース格のFA投手の移籍先が決まった後になる可能性が高い。
that's harsh... but not as much as this!!

Yeah, I know, but it’s a pet peeve of mine.

Recurring trivial annoyance?
Seems like there should be a term for that.
Scott McClain: Great story, no place on the 2009 Giants.
