2009 Giants War Projection (Position Players)

7

I thought some of you guys might be interested in this. I'm starting my 2009 Giants projections and I've finished the position players. Overall, I've got the position players adding about +15.5 wins above replacement to the team. That currently makes the Giants a 65-66 win team on offense alone. I figure that the NL West can be won with 86-88 wins, meaning that the Giants will need to make up the remaining 20 wins needed by their pitching -- starters and bullpen. I'm thinking that 20 wins might be a little too much to make up by pitching alone, but it could be close-ish. I'll be posting the 2nd part on the pitching tomorrow, so stay tuned. I've also got a Google Docs worksheet online for the position player WAR spreadsheet. Check it out.
