Correia to the Pads
Looks like the pads signed Correia to a minor league deal. Maybe we should pick up Scott Hairston to only play against him. Hairston killed Correia!

I hope the kid finds his game down there, but suffers horribly every time he faces the Giants. I’ll miss Grant’s “tension and fame” references most of all.
No, really, I have updated my blog this year: http://skaldheim.livejournal.com/tag/baseball

Prediction
2011, last game of the season. SF and SD are playing each other for the wild card, both teams tied with 91 wins.
Final score: 1-0, SD. Winning pitcher – Kevin Correia. Caught Corrie’s shutout – Eliezer alfonso. Hit walk-off HR: Travis Denker. Losing pitcher – Matt Cain.
..so allow me to present Tim Lincecum and Matt Cain as two sweet, sweet bottles of warming hooch.

Keven "Ain't got no love, no love you'd" Correia
I always liked Correia and am sorry to see him go. I think we should have signed him to a minor league deal if that’s all it took.

he kind of turned me off last year when he was sent to the bullpen and pitched like he didn’t give a damn. I would have dumped him too.

I wouldn’t have dumped him because he’s a cheap option for the rotation who isn’t Matt Palmer, or some other crap.

I would have dumped him because he just doesn’t seem like the kind of guy that cares about my day at work, you know?

That's all it took for his hometown team
I think the team that fired him earlier in the year might have had to pony up something more.

hmm
If all it took was 1m and a spring training invite, I don’t see why we didn’t keep him. Unless sabean is pretty sure he’s going to acquire another starter (since Correia was good insurance there). Maybe Johnson?

750k if he makes the team…
but this is the perfect situation for Correia. He’s from San Diego, gets to stay in the NL West, moves to PETCO, and to a team with lots of open spots

Never liked him
I was not a big Correia fan, and thought it was a fallacy that he had “proven” himself with his last few starts in 2007. Sure was a great prediction for his 2008, wasn’t it?
The only regret I have here is that San Diego lost Khalil Green, otherwise they’d have two guys with ridiculous blond flowing locks. gag
