Around SBN: My First Fight: Diego Sanchez

- The Padres reached terms on minor-league deals with right-handed reliever Chris Britton, who had been non-tendered by the Yankees and has a career 3.83 ERA; and former Giants catcher Eliezer Alfonzo, who batted .266 with 12 homers for San Francisco in 2006.

The broke ass Padres are officially the new dumping grounds for has beens and never was-es. How much do you want to bet that Giants’ pitchers, after seeing him swing at pitches twenty feet out of the strike zone all these years, are going to feed him fastballs right down the middle??

I thought he was a third baseman?

My Dave Righetti is better than your Dave Righetti.

He Did Come Up Thru The Pirates System As A SS Prospect

He has played some SS in the majors as well (though not very well).

This was actually one of those times when I was making a joke. Jose Castillo is, in my opinion, a criminally bad third baseman.

But he was apparently our best option last year, and that is worth making jokes about.

Been a while

…Since there was not a “E. Alfonzo” somewhere in the Giants Organization. Edgar tainted those initials in my eyes.

Notgardo,

Like a crazy ex-girlfriend, I used to like you, but gradually having you around got more and more unbearable. I hope that you are happy in San Diego, but that our paths do not cross.

The Denker bus is now bound for San Diego. Those who were passengers on it are now angrily stranded at a gas station in Modesto, CA. Not much about baseball here .

Does this cancel out them getting Denker?

I say not

Here's to Notgardo...

…who filled in more capably than anyone could’ve expected when Matheny got his bell rung once too often.

Here’s to Notgardo, who dollar for dollar sucked far less than his namesake.

Here’s to Notgardo, a career minor leaguer getting a minor league deal.

Anyone getting paid to play baseball should consider themselves fortunate; no matter the level.

No kidding. Making 6 figures minimum is way more than enough compensation to play a kid’s game.

Certainly, I would pay to take a major league AB.

Whom would you like to take that AB against? (You can’t say ZITO!)

You probably know it as MYANMAR, but it will always be BURMA to me!

Personally

I think facing this guy would be pretty fun

Hope he makes the club

I want to see Notgardo extend his awesome not-walking record. Two unintentional walks in 387 PA! Two!

12 homers seems like a ton after the 2008 season.

Speed, defense... and an almost fanatical devotion to getting picked off.
