Baseball Ballerinas

So, I was at the nutcracker in Oakland at the Paramount Theater today with my family today and I noticed there were a few performers whose names I recognized. Dancing as toy soldiers in the performance today was Tony La Russa, Bob Geren, and our own Brian Wilson. Also performing with them were John Evans, Frank Sommerville, Jamie Williams and one other who I can't remember. The majority of the theater knew that they were going to be in it. They weren't very good, but that was the fun and everyone was laughing and cheered loud for them. I had tickets for the after party with the performers and I talked to Brian Wilson. He was really nice and I got a picture. I'll post it when my step-mom uploads it to her computer. Anyways, just thought I'd share the story.

What!? That is wack!

Still-proud, adoptive mama of Notgardo Alfonzo, who's back from the 50-game purgatory. He promises never to do it again. I couldn't get him to promise to hit, though. We're working on that with bribes of M&Ms, kind of like potty training.

I’d heard that the A’s used to do that, but I had no idea Giants ever did. I’m looking forward to those Wilson ballerina photos, should be pretty funny.

Less arm, more talk. Raisingcain is a GAMER.

Ya, supposedly, La Russa has been doing it for years.

Hey man I wouldn’t fuck with a danseur. They could snap my neck with their incredibly toned thighs.

That's The Killers?

Jeebus, they’ve gotten a lot worse since Hot Fuss.

The Sam’s Town CD is really good, in my opinion, but that new song is nearly unlistenable. I haven’t hear anything else from the new album, though.

If you liked Sam’s Town you’ll like the new album. After a couple listenings I’d say the “Are we Human” song is by far the worst song on the CD.

This is Your Life and Spaceman are both really good though.

Cool, I’ve been debating whether I want it or not. After Weezer’s red album, I’ve been leaning more and more toward “if the single is shit, that’s not a good sign for the album…”

Are we not men?

Castillo got the DFA. Guestimate for Castillo DFA to come before the 2009 season = 2.

Is that the official spelling they’re using? Now I have a reason to hate them.

by Natto on Dec 23, 2008 10:15 AM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I’m pretty sure the actual lyric is “Are we human or are we dancer?” which is monumentally stupid

Yeah, that's the line

I remember because one of my friends used it as his status for about a month. -_-

by Natto on Dec 23, 2008 10:37 AM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

It’s not the spelling their using. Apparently, the line is a reference to some philosopher who was like “one day something something about not being humans because we’ll be dancers something.” I think it was probably akin to the “we’re all just players in the big ol’ play called life… faking it to get through and all that carp” kind of thing.

But listen guys, let’s stay away from nonsense philosophy when we’re writing our singles.

I was expecting this

to be about Omar ! The one Giant (former) that should appear as a dancer is conspicuously absent.

My adopted sons Matt Downs and Ben Copeland . Still not ranked in the McC prospect list.
