Rangers pick up Blalock's Option

If I’m the Rangers, I’m picking up Blalock’s option to see what kind of return I can get for him on the trade market. It wouldn’t surprise me if that’s what they’re thinking of doing.

Yeah, exactly. There was no way the Rangers weren’t going to pick up his option. You don’t let 120 OPS+ hitters — even if they are injured a lot — walk over $6M. They’ll either look for a trade or use him as a DH.
