Depending on length of contract I would be ok with this. Tends to hit LHP a bit better then RHP ( 3 out of the last 4 years). He could be used to soak up a lot of innings at Third or as the back plann for the midle infield spots. A Branyan/Uribe in a competition /platoon for third anyone?

I still don’t get why MLB Trade Rumors — basically a link dump with 1% added author speculation — gets such little respect from some of the grumpy old men of the baseball blog world when sites like this are around. Two days ago, they wrote:
The Giants and Tigers are among eight other clubs that have expressed interest in Furcal, who has missed one-third of the club’s games since he signed three years ago
