Reasons To Be Cheerful , Pt. III
"One of the oldest of the MLB teams, the Giants hold the distinction of having won the most games of any team in the history of organized sports. The Giants also have the most members in the hall of fame. The Giants are also known for their intense rivalry with the Los Angeles Dodgers."
In reverse order of appearance:
1. Duh
2. I did not know this.
3.I did not know this either.
There's a huge list of Stuff I Did Not Know , but for now I'm musing on these two.

The second one makes me very proud. I knew that thanks to a trivia contest a few years back, but it still rocks.
"While conservatives tell you 'leave things alone and no one will lose,' and liberals tell you 'interfere a lot and no one will lose,' baseball says 'someone will lose.' Not only says it - but insists upon it! ... Democracy is lovely, but baseball's more mature." BVCE supports SF Dugout and Manny Burriss.

Bigass CDs that don't fit modern machinery.
Because some stuff never made it to digital. Or you just can’t justify $25 for 25 year old music.
Or you like the warm sound – digital is widely referred to as sounding “too sterile”.
Or you can’t just shitcan a thirty year collection.
So I bought a turntable I can plug into a computer…now if I can just figure out the WAV to MP3 encoding nightmare…

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Not WAV to MP3!!!!! Use FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec). It compresses your songs, not as much as mp3 does, but does it without a loss of quality. MP3’s are actually a horrible way to archive your music, because when you write those mp3s to a CD, you’ll have a lesser quality sound.
Get foobar 2000. With that you’ll be able to open your WAV files and convert them to FLAC.
And you feel into the sarchasm of vinyl too. I prefer vinyl to any media.

Vic..
If you’d like send me off an e-mail and I’ll get you some links and info about it. FLAC really is the way to go if you’re archiving your vinyl collection, or any collection. Every CD I own has gone to FLAC so that when they fail I’ll have a perfect copy ready to go.

I was just gonna ask.
See , the whole computer thing started innocently enough as a way of arranging files so as to download them onto a MiniDisc…and now my life is horribly complicated…and no , I don’t know the truth and the light of superior conversions and would of course welcome any ass…sistance…
(I blame Hefner for that conditioned mental hiccup there)
Falling into vinyl’s sarchasm is a feat indeed…that hole is tiny.

The Hall of Fame thing does kick ass, although it’s partly due to a lot of HOFers who played for the Giants at the shitty end of their careers – for example, Steve Carlton, Gary Carter, Warren Spahn, Duke Snider, etc.
