You know what they say…
no noose is good noose!
The bases were drunk, and I painted the black with my best yakker. But blue squeezed me, and I went full. I came back with my heater, but the stick flares one the other way and the chalk flies for two bases. Three earnies! Next thing I know, skipper hooks me and I'm sipping suds with the clubby.

Does that lead to the Promised Land or the Bridge to Nowhere?

I’m guessing that it’ll lead to somewhere in the wilderness.

I put on the XM baseball channel for two minutes the day Timmy won the Cy Young, and the guy said “when we come back from the break I’m going to tell you why the voters got it wrong and Johan Santana should have won the award.” I turned it off and haven’t turned it on since.

I wish
I wish you had listened. Obviously I don’t agree with them, but I would have loved to hear their reasons. When we listen to those who agree with us, we usually don’t learn as much as when we listen to those who disagree.

You missed it
“Because I am a stupid head”
"While conservatives tell you 'leave things alone and no one will lose,' and liberals tell you 'interfere a lot and no one will lose,' baseball says 'someone will lose.' Not only says it - but insists upon it! ... Democracy is lovely, but baseball's more mature." BVCE supports SF Dugout and Manny Burriss.

listening to other Met jock sniffers around these parts, you can bet his argument had to do with the Mets being a contender and him carrying them on his back the last couple of weeks. He pitched a shutout on three days rest on the next to last day of the season after throwing 126 pitches the start before. They choked it up anyway, and the Cy Young is an award for the year, not the week. You want to give him the NL pitcher of the week award, fine with me.

Santana led the league in innings and ERA and was one point behind Lincecum in ERA+. It’s not exactly like he has no case.

Santana definitely had a case
but Timmy had a better case.

I think
I think one can make a pretty good case for either Johan Santana OR Brandon Webb. If CC Sabathia had pitched an extra month or so in the NL, perhaps a strong case could have been made for HIM.
But I think if you ask NL hitters, most will tell you the right guy won the award.
