Interesting table showing Defensive ( as a group) Efficiency behind Starters in 2008.
If nothing else it give us some numbers ( something not always easy to find) to quantify how poor our defense was.

yet another reminder of how bad the infield defense was last season… and i guess CF too during most games
btw, it’s interesting to see this season’s defense behind Chien-Ming Wang as better than expected. i read somewhere someone speculating that the balls Wang puts in play might be easier to field than the other Yankees pitchers overall but have never seen or done a study on it.

Well I find it interesting Cain received more outs ( 436) then projected ( 432). So maybe the increase in Fly balls were by design?
The other Giants starters to gain more outs then projected was Tim ( 385 to 382) and Correia ( 248 to 245).
