Adoptive Parent of Francisco Peguero. He can throw, he can run, he can hit(fastballs), and he's Dominican. What else do you need to know?

Maybe this is a deke. After all, the Giants were interested in Joe Beimel right before signing Affeldt.

eh… i guess i really don’t think this would be much worse than signing furcal. i can’t say i’m thrilled about it, but as long as we’re not diving into the edgar renteria/orlando cabrera bin, i guess i can live with it.
ideally, though, i don’t see why we can’t just pool the money we would spend on cc and one of these middle infielders to maybe give us a shot at teixeira. call me crazy but i’d rather add one good bat to this team than one good (but overworked) arm plus a balky 30+ middle infielder
Idolizing Robb Nen since 2002...

well it would be worse because we’d be giving up a pretty high draft pick

Marcel has Hudson projected at: .285/.357/.432 with a wOBA of .346, that’s a pretty decent projection.

good defender
but he’s getting older (will be 31 on opening day) and has bad injury history, including missing significant time over the last 2 years. He’d also cost us our 2nd round pick. He’ll want too much money for too many years.
So, no thanks. I’d rather see the Frandsen/Velez/Burriss (if we sign a SS) committee at 2nd base in 2009.

Furcal is looking better to me every day…
You probably know it as MYANMAR, but it will always be BURMA to me!
