Get your Lincecum 4-pack
Interesting...does this mean they have decided Tim's going to pitch opening night? Or am I overthinking?
And, in a lame attempt to hijack my own fanshot, has anyone else listened to Chinese Democracy yet (can be found on the GnR myspace page)? 6 song into it...and all I can really say is that if you thought time wasn't kind to James Hetfield's voice, then prepare yourself for a new kind of hurt with Axel Rose.

It’s going to be a zoo 5/17!
They say some players get out of bed hitting; Pablo Sandoval doesn't wait that long

Upside: Bobblehead on my birthday!
Downside: I don’t like view reserve, dammit.

Chuck Klosterman wrote a pretty good review of Chinese Democracy. I really don’t like GNR so i don’t really plan on listening but here is the link

IT’S A TRAP! Giants marketing has it all figured out: Come for the Lincecum, stay for the Zito!

I'm confused
Opening day is April 7th, day game. The game is April 8th a night game. Call me crazy, but I thought he would be #1, so which day is he pitching? The rest of the dates are based on Opening Day, not Opening Night. ???

CC is the Opening Day Starter!
You probably know it as MYANMAR, but it will always be BURMA to me!

wow, I totally missed this
I didn’t realize they would differentiate between Opening Day & Night. So…are they halfway planning on CC, or did they just pick arbitrary dates and slap Tim’s face on the package?

If Lincecum isn’t the opening day starter, perhaps Cain is.
by Natto on Nov 20, 2008 3:52 PM PST up reply actions 0 recs
maybe
but that seems like a slap in the face to Tim. “Hey, thanks for winning that Cy Young, but even though we let the guy we’re paying a huge contract to start opening day last year, we’re going to let the less-accomplished kid start this year”.

I dunno
To me, it would seem like a reward for Cain since he’s been around longer.

wait
so you’re saying we should start a third starter opening day…

Lincecum could still be the Opening Day starter. Maybe they figure the first game will sell out regardless, so they give Lincecum the spotlight the following night to boost attendance for that game as well.

No, they aren’t arbitrary dates, those would be his starts if he’s pitching Opening Day.
by timmeh on Nov 20, 2008 4:57 PM PST up reply actions 0 recs
actually
if he pitches opening DAY (7th), then we’d catch him the middle 2 dates, and the last date falls on starter #2.

Yup, you’re correct, its the 16th not the 17th.

I don’t think they would do a ceremony for someone on the day they are pitching, so he may be the opening day starter but get all the glam the next night.

The GREAT BIG CRANIUM already committed to Lincecum as the opening day starter right after the CYA was announced. The quote was in a Chris Haft story on mlb.com. I am too lazy to look for it.

so i'd be paying $11 to see a third starter?
well, either that or CC

Why would anyone listen to a GNR album that doesn’t have Slash on it? What’s next – Queen going on tour without Freddie Mercury? Led Zeppelin recording an album without Robert Plant?
..so allow me to present Tim Lincecum and Matt Cain as two sweet, sweet bottles of warming hooch.

the guitar actually is pretty good
more metal than bluesy, but still good nonetheless. after listening to it for a couple times, it’s actually not too bad of an album. axel’s just like billy corgan—once you’re able to get past his voice, there’s some good music there.
