OT: Have not seen a food post for a while.
Have any of you fell in love with a food without realizing it? I have recently fell love with hot sauce, it doesn't matter what kind of hot sauce, right now it's Frank's red hot sauce though. I have been eating it on everything, pizza, soup and more recently nachos. I also wanted to post this to tell everyone about my BBQ sauce I made the other night, I made it from scratch i.e. tomato paste as my base, and so far it is awesome! I am holding off on telling everyone the recipe becasue I have yet to try on something I actually BBQ'd, but preliminary taste tests are positive ( and that is from my picky wife ) so I hope it will turn out awesome. Anyway I was hoping to get some feedback, if any of you have made a BBQ sauce give me some tips, or if you have a hot sauce to recommend, that would be awesome. Oh and I don't like the realy hot stuff, but on the hot scale I like hot just not insane, Thanks for the input.
Edit: Please add any new meals you have tried, or just stuff you love! I just was curious about hot sauces and BBQ sauce.

Chipotle Tabasco
less hot than normal Tabasco, according to their chart, but it’s delicious. Irving Pizza on Geary keeps some around, which is how I found it. Most recently, I used it to marinate fish for tacos at work.

For hot sauce..
Cholula is the best.

Ya, I love Cholula! My most recent purchase was the Frank’s, which is why I’m using that.

Hmm, I do like Tobasco, is the Chipotle smokey? I love the smokey stuff. Oh and I live in Southern Oregon, so if it is regional I wont have access to it anytime soon.

That Chipotle Tabasco is awesome. I smother that on all my tacos. My wife had never tried that stuff until we had met, but she now has been converted, and she wont eat homemade mexican without it either. Significantly better that normal Tabasco, Tapatio, or Cholula in my book.

I wanted salsa not seltzer! Don’t you know the difference between salsa and seltzer? You have the seltzer after the salsa!

print these instructions, give them to your wife/girlfriend, then wait.
I’m sure he wouldn’t expect you to do that much work.

I tried your recipe but the sauce mixed with all the water and it ended up more like a soup than anything else.
Yummy, though.

Made Chicken Cacciatore this weekend. I’m slow cooking everything now. The Mrs, who is really picky, was impressed. So I need more recipes to keep up the charade! Help!
Chicken Thighs (2 lb)
Fire Roasted Tomatoes (2×14.5 oz cans)
Tomato Paste (2 tbspn)
Chopped Onion (2)
Bell Pepper sliced (2)
Mushrooms sliced (2 cups)
Chicken Broth (1/2 cup)
Garlic Clove minced (1)
Oregano (1 tbspn)
Salt & Pepper
Don't think, it could only hurt the ballclub.

I made up a quick and easy weeknight dinner that me and the fam love. It’s a take on sandwich night, all with ingredients procured from Trader Joe’s:
Pita bread
Lunchmeat of your choice
Sliced cheese of your choice
Fresh baby spinach leaves
Fresh diced tomato
Olive oil
Balsamic vinegar
Fresh garlic cloves, crushed
Fresh ground black pepper
Preheat the oven to 350. Once the oven is hot, place the pita bread on a cookie sheet and heat until soft and warm, only about five minutes. Pull the bread out of the oven and let cool slightly. Mix the olive oil, vinegar, pepper, and garlic and brush/spread over the pita bread. Place the cheese on the bread, then layer on the lunchmeat. Top it off with the spinach leaves and tomato. If there’s any of the oil and vinegar mixture left over, drizzle that over the top of the vegetables. Eat it like a big taco.
It’s really good. We love this and it’s ridiculously easy to make. It’s also a fun thing to do with your regular old sandwich fixins.
