Cubs get Gregg from Fish
Dunno who will go the other way, yet For Jose Ceda . I thought we should grab him, but apparently Sabes wasn't listening.

I had no idea Gregg was already 30-years-old. Also, never trust anyone with two first names.

Looks like it was for RHP Jose Ceda. Ceda was the #3 prospect in the Cubs system by BP’s rankings. Kevin Goldstein labeled him as a 4-star prospect and noted that he’s got a tremendous fastball that works in the mid-90’s and can occasionally run it up to 100mph.
Seems like a lot to pay for Kevin Gregg? Who would be a similar Giants prospect?

well, it’s a bad comparison, but didn’t we just vote Alderson as our #3. Maybe Henry Sosa is a better comp? If we put it that way, I’d rather spend on the FA market.
Yeah, I was thinking about Sosa but I think he’s got a higher upside than Ceda does because he might be able to make it as a starter.

Osiris Matos or Waldis Joaquin? both are a bit older but are relieverslike Ceda was in AA.

I’m not that high on Matos, so I think don’t think he’s close to Ceda. Waldis Joaquin is interesting but he’s much, much less of a sure thing as compared to Ceda who could be in the big leagues by this year.
