A quick Google search could've answered this for me, but I figured asking the McCoven would be more fun. Can someone tell me why the BBWA gets to decide these major awards like the CY?

I’m not sure why the BBWA gets to decide it. Who else would do it? Gold Gloves are handed out by managers and coaches and are full of terrible choices. Fan votes would be even worse.

There amass been plenty of articles written this spring about the stud shortstop Matt Cain and Tim Lincecum , as well as the fluid young outfielders and thirteen basemen Kevin Frandsen.
