Marlins Possibly Interested in Winn?
"Greg Cote's article indicates the Marlins may look to bring in a corner outfielder with speed and strong defense, using internal options for the new-look infield. There's been no indication he's available, but could the Marlins inquire on Carl Crawford? A more reasonable target could be San Francisco's Randy Winn (either one would become the team's highest-paid player, however)."

So, what do you think? Possibly a part of a package for Uggla, Cantu, or Jacobs?

No To Jacobs
He is not the type of lefty whose power will play well at AT&T. But, yes to either Uggla or Cantu who are pure righthanded pull power hitters and this does play well at AT&T.
This looks more like speculation by the author of the article rather than actual interest. It’d be helpful if the guy actually linked to the article. Also I’m amused that his signature picture includes Zito as an “Ace”. I’m so glad SB Nation doesn’t allow signature pictures.
Saw this too
I think we are over-hyping Sanchez, I mean Zito had more ****ing wins than he did.
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA oh man…
Sanchez is a LOSING pitcher!

How is my adopted son almost twice as old as I am? Nevermind...Go Omar! Warm the Bench!
And he’s always injured! Zito never misses a start and even when he does it’s not because he’s injured.

7-zip?
You prefer the score after the first half inning of a Zito home start?

Hey, Rob Nen knows what he’s talking about.

anyone see Heyman’s column?? He said he wouldn’t trade either Prince Fielder or JJ Hardy even up for Cain, let alone the both of them. I doubt most GM’s are as stupid as Heyman, but it really shows why you don’t trade low when you have a talent like Cain.
Brian Sabean's new dad: Firm believer in corporal punishment
I don’t see the Marlins actually spending money to bring in talent the way they’ve been operating lately.
Wait a second. Isn’t it about time for the Marlins to win a world series, then have a fire sale the following off season? Yes. Yes, it is. Maybe they will do something like this.
They're about due
If the Marlins keep to their schedule, they should win the World Series next year (1997, 2003, 2009…), and if history holds true, that means they also have to beat the Giants in the NLDS to get there.
So, Giants win the West next year?

So while we’re running with this “schedule” idea…
Giants in the World Series in ‘89, ’02… Next Giants World Series in 2015? And we’d be facing the Mariners or Rangers?
FTW?
I would take this in a heartbeat.

I like Cantu. I doubt that the Marlins want Winn’s contract though.

9 million for a guy that produces at about 16 million dollars last year then will probably walk as a compensated -extra draft pick (s) – free agent next winter? Just what part of that commitment wouldn’t give The Fish a 6 hour long hard on?
Ivan Ochoa - Heir to the legacy of Rob Andrews & Rikkert Faneyte!
I would hate for us to trade for Cantu especially when we could’ve had him for free last offseason.

I have no idea what you’re referring to.
Am I mad, in a coma, or back in time? Whatever's happened, it's like I've landed on a different planet. Now, maybe if I can work out the reason, I can get home.

Yeah, but I mean, so can I.
Thanks for letting me stay at your house, by the way.

Giants' roster minus Lincecum 4 Marlins roster plus Longoria cause he's frum Floridas!
Psycho killer, qu'est-ce que c'est?
Longoria is on the Devil Rays. So maybe we could trade Sabean to the Rays for Longoria instead.

Sabean for Fielder, Hardy, Longoria, and Close Fences.
I support Roger Kieschnick in his quest to becoming the best Kieschnick ever to play professional baseball.
Close Fences?
That guy sucks donkey balls!

his upside is tremendous.
