Jon Heyman on the Cain for Fielder & Hardy rumors
• A Brewers official shot down the Internet rumor that had them possibly trading Prince Fielder and J.J. Hardy and a third player for Giants pitcher Matt Cain. Not that I really needed to hear that denial first-hand, as it wouldn't be an especially good move to trade either player straight-up for Cain. Hardy looked terrific in the playoffs, by the way.

Matt Cain wouldn’t be worth J.J. Hardy alone? Man, Heyman’s dumb.
What man? Which man? Who’s the man? When’s a man a man? What makes a man a man? Am I a man? Yes. Technically I am. - FotC

Jon Heyman thinks that Francisco Rodriguez is the AL MVP this year.
..so allow me to present Tim Lincecum and Matt Cain as two sweet, sweet bottles of warming hooch.

of course Heyman thinks that, have you had a look at Cain’s win-loss record?

Heyman on the Dodgers
In his LCS preview, he had this to say about Ramirez’ contribution to the Dodgers:
This is not the same team that muddled through its first 100 games, impressing no one while winning only half its games in the NL Worst. Never has one man transformed a team like this.
His impact was so profound that the Dodgers were stunned into a 13-16 August. Only when their eyes became adjusted to the dazzle of his greatness were they able to put together a winning September, allowing them to barely win the weakest division in baseball.
Never? Really? Ever hear of a fellow named Ruth? Or how about Barry Bonds, who was added to a 72-win team that magically became a 103-win team the next season?
Scott McClain: Great story, no place on the 2009 Giants.
