Gammons Says This is the Worst Series Ever
*Need Insider access to view*
Gammons thinks that the rain has made this the worst world series ever. He does bring up the idea of shortening the regular season, but his neutral site world series idea is pretty terrible. Also, it does seem like he's sad that the Red Sox lost.

I was able to read it as an Insider Free Preview. I’m not sure if he’s actually suggesting a neutral site World Series, more just throwing something out there that has been talked about by owners before. I agree with you that it’s a pretty awful idea. I think any drastic change would be a bit of a knee jerk reaction.
for the love of god, how often has rain been a problem in the WS? why is it that any time something out of the ordinary like this happens, all of a sudden everyone pisses themselves deciding that they have to fix it? argh.

I was afraid the Simpson’s Halloween episode would be pushed back to November 9th.

And remember, folks, next year’s World Series is going to be a week later.
There in lies the problem. Move the season earlier. Or don’t have all the travel days. Something. Make the schedule this.

28 Days after the regular season ends is the maximum. I think this seasons is 32. Start the season a week earlier, make sure the first two series of every team is played where there’s a dome or good climates, then you’re going to be done with the World Series mid October. Less weather worry.

yes
They keep noting how the World Series ends later and later each year, yet they order/allow Fox to delay the start of each series and continue adding unnecessary off days for TV.

I agree that there should be no off days when they don't travel
such as a day off between games 1 and 2. But I do get that they want to stagger all the DS so you’re not getting 4 games on one day. It’s a mixed blessing, because when there are 2 or 3 games in a day, they make it so they’re not at the same time, which is nice, but then you miss half the games because they’re during the day and you’re at work/school/whatever. But yeah, once you get to the CS, no off days unless they travel.
Still defending Rich Aurilia, and the Niners' classic unis
I don't even mind if there is 4 games on at once.
For the DS have the games on Fox, TBS, ESPN, and ESPN2. CS Fox and TBS. WS Fox.

I really
really haven’t liked gammons since about two years ago. He’s usually an excellent writer, but he’s just been more and more obnoxious, especially on air.
Mischievously implosive purple pitching staff.

Now that I think of it...
Gammons has looked less and less like Paul McCartney over the years.

The only reason the rain is an issue is cause it broke up the final game. If their had been a game six or seven this would have been considered entertaining and forgotten but because you basically got a three inning WS clinching game I can understand if feeling kind of cheap.
What the hell happened to the rays. Its like they spent all their energy getting to the WS and then had nothing left. Looked like a totally different team.
What happened to the Rays?
Their Pythagorean Record finally decided to impose itself on their actual record.
