Open World Series Thread, Game Five

There probably won't be any regular updates to this site for a couple of days. It's a good reason, though, and I'll explain it all when I get back.

In the meantime, enjoy the World Series. I was kind of hoping for Ryan Howard to go 0-for-25 while the Phillies lost the series -- hellllo, Taschner-for-Howard deal -- but it's easy to be excited for some of the long-suffering Phillies fans should they go on to win at home.

What is Grant’s “good reason”?

My guess is that Grant is a government hitman. He won’t be able to update the site because he is being snuck into Venezuela to off Hugo Chavez.

Prediction

Rays get to Hamels early for 3 runs, but he cruises to last 7 full innings. Phils, meanwhile, inexplicably go cold at the plate and lose 3-1.

Basis for prediction: Being a jerk, basically…. plus the games I suffered with Hamels on my fantasy team and the Phils blanking out on run support for him. I do hope Philly wins the series, though. Go NL.

Fun Facts

The Phillies connected on 4 home runs yesterday and have hit 7 home runs in the last 2
games. The Phillies have totaled 9 home runs in this series, the most by one club in a World Series of any length since 2002, when San Francisco hit a World Series-record 14 home runs in a 7-game series against Anaheim. It is the first time a team has hit 4 home runs in a single World Series game since Game Two of the 2002 Series when the Giants hit 4 (Bell, Bonds, Kent, Sanders). The all-time record for most home runs in a World Series game by one club is 5.

Well in Wisconsin basically the entire city’s gas prices are the same, and usually the unleaded and unleaded plus are the same price, with the premium 20 cents more.

Judge Judy and Executioner.

There amass been plenty of articles written this spring about the stud shortstop Matt Cain and Tim Lincecum , as well as the fluid young outfielders and thirteen basemen Kevin Frandsen.

For some reason, I’ve never watched any CBS shows, but I started watching season one of How I Met Your Mother and The Big Bang Theory. Not bad.

And then they get it regularly for the first few years and end up paying for it anyway

I can't pay for parking..

It’s like going to a prostitute. Why should I pay, when if I apply myself a little, I can get it for free?
