Open World Series Thread, Game Five

There probably won't be any regular updates to this site for a couple of days. It's a good reason, though, and I'll explain it all when I get back.

In the meantime, enjoy the World Series. I was kind of hoping for Ryan Howard to go 0-for-25 while the Phillies lost the series -- hellllo, Taschner-for-Howard deal -- but it's easy to be excited for some of the long-suffering Phillies fans should they go on to win at home.

Hijack!

What is Grant’s “good reason”?

My guess is that Grant is a government hitman. He won’t be able to update the site because he is being snuck into Venezuela to off Hugo Chavez.

GOD SPEED, GRANT!

Grant is actually Grant Balfour.

There amass been plenty of articles written this spring about the stud shortstop Matt Cain and Tim Lincecum , as well as the fluid young outfielders and thirteen basemen Kevin Frandsen.

Come on, THINK about it MAN. Grant NEVER leave his computer!

If only INORITE was a valid Scrabble play. It doesn’t even have a valid anagram.

INOSITE, however, is valid.

Anagram of "Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum" = TENSE, CLIMACTIC, TRIUMPHING

Tip for Scrabble.

QAT is valid. It’s come in very helpful for me through the years.

QAT is an alternate spelling of KHAT which is a shrubbery in Yemen.

Prediction

Rays get to Hamels early for 3 runs, but he cruises to last 7 full innings. Phils, meanwhile, inexplicably go cold at the plate and lose 3-1.

Basis for prediction: Being a jerk, basically…. plus the games I suffered with Hamels on my fantasy team and the Phils blanking out on run support for him. I do hope Philly wins the series, though. Go NL.

by wedge on Oct 27, 2008 5:28 PM PDT   0 recs
