Fatigue and injuries and Rainman.
Since I saw Raiman's reply to me late, but since it really pisses me off, on injuries and fatigue, suggested reading for Rainman:
Facts and Fallacies of Fitness, Mel Siff,
Science and Practice of Strength Training, 2nd ed, Vladimir Zatsiorsky,
Supertraining, 6th ed, Mel Siff,
Strength and Power in Sport, editor P V Komi,
Neuromechanics of Human Movement, Roger Enoka,
Biomechanics of Musculoskeletal Injury, Whiting and Zernicke
If you've actually fukking interested, I can suggest even more in depth and detailed books.
When you've bothered to actually fukking educate yourself on sports science, sports training, and biomechanics, then come back and talk about opinion and fact.

I missed this, what happened? Link?
Also, rfloh, you talk a lot about training and fitness, what do you do? Are you a medical student? Or did I confuse you with someone else.

Ok, thinking again,
I prolly shouldn’t have posted this. Was really pissed off, and should have walked away from the comp, instead.
This is the link to the original discussion: :
What Rainman said:
I don’t buy that work load is what causes injuries. It is either a weakness in the specific pitcher’s mechanics or physique that causes injuries. The guys that get hurt will most likely get hurt no matter how well you manage their workload.
and,
his Is Opinion Not Fact
Calling it fact does not make it so.
I’m a computer programmer who moonlights as a personal trainer. Used to compete in weightlifting. Sports training and sports performance is my avocation, my passion. If I were younger, say in my early 20s, I would seriously consider med school.

Uggh, quoting FAIL.
the calling it fact line is also from Rainman.

Thanks, rfloh.
Rainman can be pretty incendiary at times, but you already knew that. I think trying to reason with him is most likely a useless endeavor.
I might bug you from time to time about fitness questions now!

Not to bring politics into the discussion (sorry) but rainman reminds me of a Republican. He just says things as fact, doesn’t back it up and refuses to see when people offer up genuine proof. e.g. Sarah Palin saying she did nothing wrong ("Troopergate"), to being found to have been unethical and still saying she didn’t do anything unethical a day later.
