Giants draftee Carter Bell is in fact a Beaver
I finally found confirmation that Carter Bell signed with Oregon State instead of the Giants after San Francisco drafted him in the 22nd round in June. Just in case anyone else wanted to know or is as obsessive about this as I am.
Bell will get a chance to start for the Beavers this spring because the incumbent second baseman Garrett Nash is leaving the school to do a Mormon mission.
From Baseball America's college blog: He has the body control and athletic ability to play the position in college. His 7.0-second speed in the 60 and below-average range likely make a move to third a necessity for pro ball, and his bat is light for the draft at a corner spot.
I really wanted Bell (duh) and given the dearth of options at third, this new information is sort of a drag.

Drak Bell is way cooler.
My Dave Righetti is better than your Dave Righetti.

Does that mean he hangs around with Zorak’s younger brother Dvorak, looking for ways to get Space Ghost’s little cousin from out of town in trouble?
