Nick Johnson and Joe Crede = potential greatest feel-good headline of 2008

Healthy Johnson Makes Giant Impotence Credeble.

You are obviously not committed enough to making crass and obnoxious puns.

it is totally worth it.

Re: Nick Johnson and Joe Crede = potential greates
It doesn't make sense, though. A healthy Johnson would hurt the "crede"bility of any kind of impotence.

Also, I can't think of any practical circumstance in which this "headline" would get written. What storyline could possibly justify these words being written in that order?

The pun itself is sharp, but the use and context is dull.

Plus, he might as well have just put it in the Cain/Crede Diary below. Oh well, guess we'll try to make the most of this....

2008 Giants Headline Contest! Show us what you've got!

As far as I'm concerned, puns are generally a given and extra points will be "awarded" for likelihood of real life use. And as always, extra extra points for humor.

It's been a while since we've had a "made up headlines" thing, and I've always enjoyed the back and forth in these things. Seemed like a solid way to salvage the thread.

I refuse to believe that we already have a winner, but damned if I don't just think this awesome.

It's the anal twist that really makes this more than your standard Johnson pun. That makes it a work of art. Nice work.

Re: Trying to make the most of this: Diary Semi-Hi
A couple of years ago there was a Yahoo player note that was titled:

A-Rod Likes it in the Two-Hole.

I am 100% serious, it was amazing.  There is also the old standby:

A-Rod in your Pujols

That was my fantasy baseball leagues name last year.  None of this has anything to do with the Giants, but I don't really care as long as I get to make juvenile comments.

Re: Nick Johnson and Joe Crede = potential greates
Okay, I'll hijack my own thread by sucking all joy out of it (nothing intended by it I swear) and offering a quasi-realistic scenario where I think, aside from the non-sensicalization of it, the headline can be written. If and this is a big if:

we acquire Johnson and Crede in trades. And somehow they offer just enough offensive punch to allow our pitching to sneak us into the Wild-Card.

Dave "Rob" erts nomar with a diving catch as the giants beat the dodgers

Matt "Cain"s the dodgers, holds them to 3 hits in win.

Bruce "Botches" hit and run play in the ninth, dodgers win.

Fred "Lewis'" the game with double play in the ninth.

Dan makes extra "Ort" inary catch, leads ginats to victory.
