Rule IV draft

As everyone probably knows, the giants have the fifth pick of the june draft, so I was wondering what peoples takes are on who we should draft.  After doing some research, it seems the concensus is we will take justin smoak or eric hosmer.  I don't know much else other than they are power hitting first basemen.  Anyone care to educate me?

Re: Rule IV draft
oops sorry.  still not a lot on hosmer in those diaries.  this is a very encouraging report that I found on hosmer.

Re: Rule IV draft
You do realize that we'd be drafting him as a pitcher, not a hitter, right?

Sorry, couldn't resist!

I read that report a while back and have been very high on Hosmer ever since.  He sounds like an amazing prospect.

Re: Rule IV draft
smoak is a stud.  paired with villalona we could have a nice middle of the order in 2011.  by then we will almost be done paying zito and lincecain should be about to cash in.

Re: Rule IV draft
actually hosmer sounds damn good too after reading that article.  either one immediately becomes a top 10 prospect in our system
