Open Game Thread, 9/28

On October 28th, I'm walking for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in Walnut Creek. About a month ago, my niece was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes. It's scary stuff, but my niece is a strong kid.

So cough up some dough here to sponsor my walk. Unless, of course, you're some kind of diabetes-loving sicko. Which is what you are if you don't give money. No pressure. Go to the "support a walker" at the bottom of the page, and you can search for my last name, Brisbee.

What does this have to do with a game thread about a Giants/Dodgers game? With the money you give, researchers will come closer to proving that the Dodgers cause diabetes. We've all thought it; now we can know for certain. Think about it. We can make a difference.

I owe many thanks to the kickass people here at MCC for donating so much money to the AIDS Walk in July. I kicked in some for your walk, Grant. It's a great cause!

I used to work near Heather Farms. It's a nice area there.

I always thought that Diabetes was caused by the Padres, and the Dodgers caused Ebola. The Rockies cause hypochondria. But I guess this could all be an old wives' tale. Still, I always take quinine before a series with the Diamondbacks.

The bullpen could use work, but it should take a backseat to the offense. And, imo, its usually really dumb to overspend on relievers, unless they are the elite ones, because they bounce around so much between seasons.

Just wanted to say, my niece also has juvenile diabetes.  It's a very scary thing, and she's handled it remarkably well!  She's an absolute doll, too.  Not that that makes any difference, just thought I'd say...

Anyway, I'm sure my wife and I will be happy to donate to your walk, though we're in a tight situation right now, and I'm getting ready to start a new jorb.  My sister-in-law and niece frequently do these walks too, so we're regular contributors to them as well.
