OT: Fun(ny) Site Suggestions?

It goes without saying, but the one Web site I read most in a day is McCoveyChron. On slow days it's always nice to have others, though, and ESPN and SI just don't do it for me.

At a McChron reader's suggestion I checked out firejoemorgan.com and it quickly became my second favorite site. The guys are extremely funny, but FJM proved to be an educational site as well.

Anyway, I wanted to ask if there are any other Web sites I can add to my "go to" list along with McC, FJM, the Onion etc. I'm not looking for anything too deep, just something to help me wile away a boring day when there's no Giants baseball (or when they've already played).

Interesting is good, funny is even better.

cough

There's Sports Pickle which is a humor/satire site like the Onion but devoted to sports. The presentation isn't as professional as the Onion, but it has some amusing stuff.

Also...
the Dugout - a perennial favorite.

MLB Afternoon - These are MLB comics done by a Korean fan. Even if you don't know Korean, it's fun just to look at the caricatures.

Re: Also...
The Dugout is a must. Even if you ignore the fact that it's really funny, you need to read it to be able to understand a third of the signature lines on MCC comments.

MLB Afternoon is awesome, even if the artist Choi Hoon doesn't update every day.
Strikeouts are boring. Besides that, they're fascist. Not boring: Emmanuel Burriss. Not facist: THE RETURN OF SF Dugout

Yeah , this one!
(arranges flower/camera)

This may be wildly off topic , but Our Singaporean Brethren didn't specify as to whether the site need be sports oriented...you may or may not have noticed a lack of depth in some online info sites - a claim you'll never have with the NY Times.

yup , a plumber suggested that. Huh. Go figure.

Well for fun..
I always just kind of wander around wikipedia.  Look something up and then just follow links from there for a while.  Eventually I waste some time.

Otherwise I have an idea if you're looking to wasting some time around 10pm (on the west coast that is).  Tune your radio to 560 AM and listen to Coast to Coast AM.  It's a news show on paranormal activities (UFOs, ghosts, bigfoot, etc.) with also an alternative media twist.  It's interesting to hear, although if you really want to get into it listen to a night that Art Bell hosts.  He's in retirement now, but even though the current host is good, it will never be the same without Art Bell.

Doh...
Failed to see that you were the Singapore one.  Good luck hearing Coast to Coast AM.

I love Coast to Coast AM. I didn't realise Art Bell was back at all.

Well he's retired..
Only doing select shows.  George Noory is a replacement, but still no Bell.  Unfortunately it's on 11-5 (repeat a few hours) here and usually I'm not up listening to the radio at those hours.

+1. Excellent, highly sarcastic take on pro and college sports. Plus a pretty snarky group of regular posters on the comment side, with handles like "Len Bias Cocaine Surplus."

They do the highly lame "We hate Barry Bonds" act there, though....that's the only thing about the site that's annoying.

Step 1:  Download Firefox.
Step 2:  Get the StumbleUpon plug-in.
Step 3:  Browse porn, video games, and whatnot 'til your hearts content.

And of course I messed it up. Bender goes off to build his own amusement park, not Casino.

So this is what shame feels like...

Re: OT: Fun(ny) Site Suggestions?
I'm staying right here. When Grant says it's funny then I'll check it out. Until then I'll enjoy the thousand pictures of his cat ("Oh, no they're bringing in Benitez") and the tired used up photos of Dodger Stadium (upper deck for jerks, etc.) -- it doesn't get any better than that!

They're not for everyone, but if you have a certain sense of humor, they're absolute gold.

Jonathan Sanchez. He's left-handed, like Barry Zito. His fastball breaks 80, unlike Zito.
