Tomko DFA'd

Hmmm....

Star-divide

... who's going to pick him up? A contender? A last-placer? The Orioles?

Ponderous!

I'm not sure if Mrs. Kucinich is really that hot, or just a surprising (looking) match for the intrepid Dennis. She needs to be isolated for testing.

Agent Tomko, you have failed in your mission. The enemy has identified you as an infiltrator and severed all contact. Your usefulness to us is therefore at an end.

Don't worry, though, we won't just cast you aside. We're sending to you to a nice retirement village on the Welsh coast. Be seeing you...

Your job, Mr. Tomko, is to infiltrate the Dodger organization and create chaos and turmoil from within. As always, should you be captured or killed, the traveling secretary will disavow any knowledge of your actions. Good luck, Brett.

Re: Tomko DFA'd
The Dodgers just claimed Esteban Loaiza off of waivers from the A's. That means they are stuck with him next year as well. The genius Billy Beane just let the Dodgers have him, they didn't sucker the desperate Colletti out of another prospect. Even though I know that Beane was happy to shed the contract, you would think a "great" GM like Beane could have also gotten a player out of the deal, especially since Colletti has shown he has no problem giving them up.

Re: Tomko DFA'd
I think Beane will likely pop open an expensive bottle of champagne and pour it all over a hooker tonight to celebrate the fact that the Dodgers are assuming 8.5mil of Loaiza's contract.

Oh Ned!  You've outsmarted us again!  Loaiza's career 4.60 ERA and oh-so-shiny 124-108 record speaks volumes for your creativity!  I now envy Dodger fans so much more!

Tomko goes around San Diego solving crimes with his mediocre pitch selection and trying to find out who is behind his latest DFA. Unattractive annoying bitches may appear as supporting characters. Bruce Campbell spends most of his on-screen time in bathing suits.

Re: Tomko DFA'd
Seems like the Giants have had a ton of guys the last couple of years who were either DFA'd by the Giants, or were DFA'd or otherwise out of pro ball shortly after their stint with the Giants.

Tomko, Hillenbrand, Finley, Fassero, Edgardo Alfonso, Todd Greene, Jose Vizcaino, Tim Worrell, Michael Tucker, Alex Sanchez come to mind.

Aurilia, Roberts, Durham soon to be added to this list.  Maybe Matt Morris too.

The really know how to acquire guys who are on their last legs!

Don't forget Grissom and Woody.

I didn't realize Greene hadn't caught on somewhere this year...I'm a little surprised, he had a decent season last year, and it seems like there are always jobs for backup catchers.

Re: Tomko DFA'd
Roberts DFA'd???!!!

Not any time soon.  Frankly I'd be furious if the Giants DFA'd him.  Have you looked at his 2nd half numbers?

322/390/413 with an OPS+ of 111.

11 SBs vs. 2 CSs

If you allow for his first half being the result of a surgery-requiring elbow injury, this guy is nowhere near being a DFA candidate.
