Open Gameday Thread, 8/28

Since Mike Benjamin stole the link I was going to use for the gameday thread, I'll have to use plan b:

Fugazi and Destiny's Child, together at last. It works a little too well. Kind of scares me, it does.

I direct any lookyloos on the gameday thread to Mike Benjamin's post. Some important gab going on over there.

OMG!
49ers coach Mike Nolan named Joe Staley his starting right tackle Tuesday. He got the nod over incumbent Kwame Harris. Harris' roster spot may now be in jeopardy, as his salary is high and Adam Snyder can play the position if Staley fails or gets hurt. The Niners could also shop Harris for a trade.

Re: Learn something new everyday
Listening to reports on CNN and FNC there is a certain ritual. If a person does this then it is a signal for some action. Bathrooms seem to be the hook-up place. Got to remember next time I have my nephew and we go out as I will follow him to restroom to watch over him.

Please excuse if reported earlier
From rotoworld:

In an effort to keep his innings total down, the Giants are planning on skipping Tim Lincecum's next turn in the rotation.

The Giants are off Thursday, so they could wait until Sept. 4 to use Lincecum again. If they want him to go a full nine or 10 days between starts, then they'll probably give Pat Misch a spot start.

Chulkster Update
From rotoworld:

Vinnie Chulk, who went on the DL Monday with what the Giants thought was a blood clot, actually has Buerger's Disease in his middle finger, a circulatory disorder affecting the arms and legs that can be caused partially from the use of chewing tobacco.

Athletic trainer Dave Groeschner said he and doctors are still doing some investigating to determine what course of action to take. "If he continues to use tobacco products it could be an issue that could spread to other fingers or his toes," Groeschner said.
