I never want to wish anyone harm, and I hope he's ultimately OK, but I must say, I'm not saddened by this:

But dude was the last respectable hitter we had protecting Bonds, and a big reason for the almost in 2002. However heartbreaking that was, I'm at least happy the team got there, and Kent was a big part of making that happen.

I was looking over his stats last night and it's amazing how good he was with the Giants. His 2000 season (.334/.424/.596) in particular was worth 11.7 wins. That is straight up ridiculous from the 2B position.
