Don't wish anyone harm, but...

I never want to wish anyone harm, and I hope he's ultimately OK, but I must say, I'm not saddened by this:

Re: Don't wish anyone harm, but...
Do they still let you pick your cap? I read somewhere they don't. I think it would be hilarious if he and bonds went in at the same time.

hilarious and uncomfortable to both of them... but somehow fitting.

Re: Don't wish anyone harm, but...
No they dont let you pick anymore. I think it has to do with Canseco selling the rights to the cap he would wear to Tampa Bay.

Re: Don't wish anyone harm, but...
I thought it was because the Padres paid Winfield to go in as a Padre.
Bold Prediction: Klesko will finish the 2007 season with at least 20 HRs. (OPS+ is 129 as of 7/1/07)

Re: Don't wish anyone harm, but...
He did have a massive bruise on his face. And apparently for a while he was "incoherent." If only that kind of thing would simply perpetuate itself so pitchers wouldn't have to bean him every once in a while.
I'll take the freight train, Bengie Molina.

Kent..
I've never understood why everyone hates Kent so much. Yes, he's an assbag. Yes, he has a porno moustache. Yes, he left for the Astros and then the bums. Yes, he shoots his mouth off etc.

But dude was the last respectable hitter we had protecting Bonds, and a big reason for the almost in 2002. However heartbreaking that was, I'm at least happy the team got there, and Kent was a big part of making that happen.

Re: Kent..
I hate him for being a world class prick but yeah, he was a hell of a hitter for the Giants and I'll never take that away from him.
Strikeouts are boring. Besides that, they're fascist. Not boring: Emmanuel Burriss. Not facist: THE RETURN OF SF Dugout

Kent was a good Giant and things have gone downhill since he left.

Re: Don't wish anyone harm, but...
I think you answered your own question in your first paragraph. He said alot of bad things about the city and team after he left. And when he signed with the Dodgers he made it worse when he said it was his lifelong dream to play with that team. And that part you added about how he was a big part of the team's success?? That's what makes it worse. If he hadn't have constantly said and done stupid things (have you forgotten the car washing incident?) that turned off Giants' management, he might have been re-signed, and the last few years might have been alot better for both us and the team.

Re: Don't wish anyone harm, but...
Kent's a douche but I don't want him to die.

I was looking over his stats last night and it's amazing how good he was with the Giants. His 2000 season (.334/.424/.596) in particular was worth 11.7 wins. That is straight up ridiculous from the 2B position.

Re: Don't wish anyone harm, but...
Kent always struck me as Eddie Haskell with a mustache: always knew what to say to the media, and then once the cameras were off and the pens were put down, reverted to surly prick.

I always scream, "Hit 'em in the face!" when he's up.  I just cried a tear of joy now that it has happened.
If Brad Hennesy had Steve Kline's attitude you'd get Rob Nen... without the triple digit heat.

Never like to see anyone hurt, but I have to admit that if it happened in S.F., I'd laugh if someone yelled out, "Hey Jeff, enjoy the game!"
