I've meant to plug this book for a while, but I forgot to do so. If you've seen the Giants: Where Have You Gone? book, this is by the same author, and it's about the favorite individual games of former Giants, from Orlando Cepeda to Brian Dallimore.

Hmm. I wonder which game Dallimore picked?

The 9th-best ERA in the N.L. goes for the Giants tonight. If he gets a win, that will just make him shinier in the offseason.

...couldn't it just be that, since a new team is in town (with a new set of scouts) that they are trotting out the oldsters to advertise them to that new team's management?

this is unreal. i am so totally in shock that they keep trotting this lineup out there. it really does make no sense. all kidding aside, the entire league looked at the pirates like "why the hell do you want matt morris??" and they HAVE to be looking over here and saying "berguhflickle?!?" or something. its really getting embarassing.

They were new last year, but I don't think they were ever used.  I might be mistaken though.

There's also an iridescent heavy speckled gold helmet, but that also is yet to be worn for a game.  Think of the most gaudy gold Trans-Am paint job you've ever seen, then drop some acid and that's about what it looks like.  Last year they were going to use it for a game, but found that the paint was weakening the helmet itself and causing them to crack under normal hitting conditions...Sooo, it's back to the drawing boards...Maybe they have it figured out by this year, because it's a really cool yellowish-gold to mallard green fade kind of thing.

Today's lineup is ridiculous.
However, the last few turns through the rotation have showcased the best part of the Giants franchise: four good to excellent starters. Even Zito looks aggressive. And Wilson looks especially solid in the pen.

For what it's worth, I heard that there's going to be a Seinfeld box set with all episodes available at once.  Supposedly it's going to cost $275 or so, but it will have all episodes from all seasons covered.

A six man rotation makes sense - whether it saves arms it gives prospects a chance to start in the bigs. Given tonight's starting lineup they still haven't figured out this excellent idea also works with your position players!

Cool. Here comes Bochy right on schedule to start changing pitchers until he can settle on somebody to blow the lead. They don't call him Genius for nothing folks. Even Ucker is laughing his ass off. Changing pitchers in the middle of an inning with a 5 run lead, 1 out, and nobody on. I guess Klinelol needs the work
