Although I think the best joke about this that I'm likely to see was the one about his scouting reports all saying that he "has tremendous speed." That got me rolling. Sometimes it's the simple puns in life.

Goofus got a few points for that one.

Re: Open Gameday Thread, 7/6
Does this mean that the HR Neifi hit off Nen in the last game in '98 that forced the Giants to play in the one game playoff against the Cubs is tainted?  All ready thought it was tainted since it happened at Coors Field (which wasn't water'd down yet with the humidor).

Not only that, but it means that Neifi's whole career was just a big joke.

Does this ruin Neifi's chance, in 2023 when the Giants hold the reunion of the Division winning team, of being part of the commemorative bobblehead collection?

Random, not really related to the game, thought: Anyone know much on Craig Brazell?  First basemen in the Royals farm system.. there's an article on him here: http://www.kansascity.com/sports/columnists/jeffrey_flanagan/story/179175.html

Seems like exactly the kind of player I'd love to see the giants target for cheap trading.

KC doesn't fit the mold of a potential trading partner.  They suck too and wouldn't be looking to add guys like Morris, Vizquel, Winn or Durham to for a playoff push.

True 'nuff.  They might be down for a prospect swap, though.

This guy kind of reminds me of a Cust type situation.  Just throwing his name out there to see if anyone knew anything more about him.

Re: Open Gameday Thread, 7/6
I don't know anything about him, but I'm sure some of the prospect hounds here do.

Swaaping prospects is something I hope the Giants don't do right now.  I'd like to see them deal their Morrises, Vizquels and Durhams now, then fill in with FAs and prospect swaps in the off-season.

Re: Open Gameday Thread, 7/6
I feel ya.

Just seems like even if we packaged Morris, Vizquel, and Durham together (which will never happen), the best we could get would probably be someone like Glaus who, while being a good player, is a walking injury.

I've turned my attention more towards hot prospects that might be stuck behind a stud at the major league level.  We're going to need some great premonition in our trading to dig out of the hole that is our farm system (in terms of hitting).  Relying strictly on guys who have their value written on their arms already probably won't be enough, at least in my opinion.

Anyone down to kidnap Billy Beane?

Depressingly, the only players who have been on the roster this year and managed to produce at an above average level are Bonds (196), Klesko (130), Lewis (110) and Ortmeier (102).

I liked how Greg Papa made the call on Taguchi's error.

"...he will leap and--NO HE DROPPED THE BALL! HE DROPPED THE BALL!"

I also watched the replay on the Giants site but fell asleep listening to the Cards announcers, so I didn't get through it.
