What should Barry do on the road?

So I think everyone is a little curious what is going to happen when Barry and Co. go on the road this week to LA and SD.  Everyone would like Bonds to break the record at home, sure, but it's unlikely that the Giants will be able to keep him out of more than 2 of the 6 games without other teams (Arizona and wild card teams, specifically) complaining.

Personally, I think Bonds should bat leadoff and become a singles hitter.  Realistically, that would never happen, but I think it'd be fun to watch.  Anyway, I'm going to leave it up to a poll.

Poll

Sit out the whole road trip, screw the other teams

Play it normally, if he sets the record on the road, so be it

Play, but don't try to hit home runs (can he even do that?)

Strangle Matt Morris and get suspended

Re: What should Barry do on the road?
Despite all the booing that would occur, part of me would really really really love to see Bonds break the record in LA in front of all their stupid fans and ugly players.

Re: What should Barry do on the road?
I vote for two homers off of Brad Penny on Tuesday night.

Does anybody else remember John Miller calling him out for "standing on the mound, pouting" last year?

Just play normally. Whatever happens, happens.

Re: How is strangle Matt Morris not at 100%
It's the "get suspended" addendum that kills it.

If only he could do it without consequence...

Re: What should Barry do on the road?
We need a "strangle Matt Morris and earn the accolades of all Giants fans" option.

Should do what it takes to help team win
Both LA and SD are in a fight for the division so it will be interesting to see how they pitch to Bonds.

Launch the record homers into the left-field pavilion in LA so some crackheads can feed their habits for a... week.

I voted Strangle
seriously, I do think Bonds should avoid swinging for the fences while he's on the road.  And he absolutely is capable of doing that - much of his struggles this year have been partly due to his insistence on swinging for the fences nearly every time he comes to the plate despite the obvious depreciation of his pull-swing.  It wouldn't be the worst thing to observe the Event that would be Bonds tying the record in front of 50,000 "giants are fags"-shouting beach ball-tossing fan-in-parking-lot-stabbing troglodytes, but at the very least save 756 for the home crowd by playing Tony Gwynn in san diego.

Re: What should Barry do on the road?
Whenever I've attended Giants games at Dodger Stadium, there are a fair number of SF fans in the stands (and for any team with some tradition that the Dodgers play, for that matter, given all the transplants living in LA), so it's not gonna be sheer anti-Barry sentiment; perhaps a majority, given the lopsidedness of the division race (the # of opposing fans in attendance seems to depend on how successful said visiting team is that given year). So I think an LA record breaker would be overall rather anti-climactic: not too violent, not too jubilant, just a mix.

Hmmm
Just the right amount of jubilant violence...

I wonder if I can support that?

Jubilant Violence
Is there any other kind?

Re: Jubilant Violence
You make a strong argument.

I have come to conclusion that I support it. Jubilant Violence in Moderation for All!

It's do it IN the road.
Benitez is owed $5,066,666 from the remainder of his $7.6 million salary, of which Florida will pay $333,333 and San Francisco will pay $4,733,333.
