Grant is Very Funny, ESPN.com Notices

I don't know if this has been posted or noticed, but ESPN.com's Jonah Keri has an article on the site's Page 2 that links to Grant's Onion parody.

Here's the link

Re: Grant is Very Funny, ESPN.com Notices
ESPN.com finally says something truthful, not annoying, and relevant.

Is the world ending?

Strikeouts are boring. Besides that, they're fascist. Not boring: Emmanuel Burriss. Not fascist: SF Dugout

Re: Grant is Very Funny, ESPN.com Notices
Of course it's ending...didn't you get the memo?

"This city is headed for a disaster of biblical proportions."
"What do you mean, "biblical"?"
"What he means is Old Testament, Mr. Mayor, real wrath-of-God type stuff."
"Exactly."
"Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies. Rivers and seas boiling."
"Forty years of darkness. Earthquakes, volcanoes..."
The dead rising from the grave."

"Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together - mass hysteria."

Omar Vizquel wants Shepard out. NUFC would be better for it!

Re: Grant is Very Funny, ESPN.com Notices
Generally you don't see that kind of behavior from a major network newsource.

Re: Grant is Very Funny, ESPN.com Notices
The Onion parody was amazing, but this is still Grant's greatest achievement.

Haha, yes, that one was absolutely brilliant!

I knew exactly which story you meant even before I clicked that link.

Re: Grant is Very Funny, ESPN.com Notices
I was wondering why a friend of mine (and Red Sox fan) randomly forwarded me the Onion parody.

And here I thought he was sitting at his desk at work googling, "The Dodgers are Evil."

Do they know to win the game a team has to actually score at least once?

Re: Grant is Very Funny, ESPN.com Notices
Congrats, Grant. A step up from Kruk and Kuip's name-dropping the site on FSN last season.

FWIW, Jonah Keri's new baseball column on is quite good. It's already one of the few must-read sections of that site, along with Bill Simmons and Paul Lukas' Uniwatch.

Lon Simmons' adopted dad.

Re: Grant is Very Funny, ESPN.com Notices
I know the name from somewhere. Either he was one of the MLBTalk.com guys with Dayn Perry or John Brattain, or he was an rec-sports-baseball guy. I knew the name before he was with Baseball Prospectus, but I've never been able to place it.

Re: Grant is Very Funny, ESPN.com Notices
I think I might be wrong.  I googled it and came up kinda empty.  He is an BP writer, and I know most of them... so maybe guilt by association. I found a post in the archives from him but it was 2002.

I find...
that the best articles are written by that kenshin guy.  Not only do I find his unique blend of humor and insight ideal but also I find myself strangely attracted to him, as I'm sure all the female readers are.

Nah, I'm pretty sure he's a fraud.

Clearly we all follow the NL WEST more than any other division. But i would still say the best race to watch is the AL Central
