Alert! Yankees/RedSox game on TV

If you missed the last two Saturday telecasts of the greatest, most wonderfulest baseball series in the universe, be sure to find a TV immediately.

Realignment Proposal:  Change the name of all NL teams to "New York Yankees".  Change the name of all AL teams to "Boston Red Sox" (except the current Yankees).  Then the nation wouldn't have to wait so long between baseball games, entertaining itself with local talents.

Re: Alert! Yankees/RedSox game on TV
There are rumors that they will cancel all other games in September and just have the Yankees and Red Sox play everyday. They want to see if the Yankees can cut into that 30 game deficit they will have by then.

McCarver just said that Mussina was an "economy" major in college.

Then again, all majors at Stanford are basically "economy" versions of real majors.  Just really expensive ones.

Yes, but that clashes with U$C, whose sports program may never recover from the drubbing administered by the Cal baseball squad recently.  No comeuppance, do you hear?

Re: Alert! Yankees/RedSox game on TV
Ahhh.  The dollar sign is fine with both, although it is pretty much mandatory with U$C.  The difference is that while Stanfurd is hated, U$C is hated, dismissed, and belittled for being a repository for wealthy children who couldn't even get in to Stanfurd, let alone Cal.

Doug Mientkiewicz was swarmed by gnats in the batter's box.  Those could have been the same gnats that swarmed the Sock of Turin after Schilling poured ketchup on it!

Tim Mccarver has now said at least 82 ridiculous things, starting with saying he'd rather have johnny damon DH than Jason Giambi because "He clogs up the bases".

Also, he says Youkilis tries to get a hit every single at bat.  The guy who walked 91 times last year.

Re: Alert! Yankees/RedSox game on TV
Can we just throw McCarver, Joe Buck, Steve Phillips, Dusty Baker, and Thom Brennaman in a pit, fill the pit, and be done with all of them?

Also, while the NYY company line is that Damon is DHing because they want to keep him healthy, the speculation is that he is DHing because his OF arm is now such a liability that they can't afford to let him unclog the bases for the opposing team with such alarming speed and frequency.

This is part of the TV deal that Fox got, I'm sure.  As if they think I wouldn't turn off the TV to listen instead.  That's as smart as the NFL thinking that I'll go to a Raiders game because it isn't on TV.

Re: KTVU Chooses Yankees/Redsox Over Giants!
As a FOX affiliate, KTVU is contractually obligated to show the FOX game of the week in its entirety.  They certainly know that local viewers want the Giants game.  They just can't do it.

by North Side Chicago Expatriate Giants Fan on Jun 2, 2007 6:44 PM PDT up reply actions

Re: KTVU Chooses Yankees/Redsox Over Giants!
Is KTVU a Fox affiliate? That would explain why the local Sacramento channel allegedly carrying the Giants game today (Channel 31, WB/UPN/Whatthefrickevertheyarecallednow) was showing the Red Sox/Yankees game as well as Channel 40 (our local Fox affiliate).

That's ok though, MLB is in good enough shape these days to weather these kinds of issues.
