Re: Lowry vs. Zito- Poll
We don't face the A's anymore, so I voted Zito.

Re: Lowry vs. Zito- Poll
I only voted for Lowry because he usually gets really, really good after the All-Star break.  He's already dealing in the first half, so you add a 2.00-2.70 second half ERA with what may be a 3.6 first half ERA...  Scary!

Zito has good second halves, too.  Let's have them both finish the year around 2.90?

Re: Lowry vs. Zito- Poll
Both good points here.  I voted for Barry because I don't believe he is pitching over his head.  I fear that Noah is.

One thing that those who picked Noah because of his great Augusts should remember -- he usually follows them up with lousy Septembers.

Re: Lowry vs. Zito- Poll
I think Zito will pitch better from this point forward but possibly not enough to pick up the .5ish ERA difference.

Re: Lowry vs. Zito- Poll
I agree that Barry won't pitch well enough to pick up the half run or so ERA difference. But, sadly, I think Noah will pitch poorly enough for him to do so.

Re: Lowry vs. Zito- Poll
126 million dollars... Zito:   13 starts, 6-6, 4.02 ERA, 78.1 IP, 74 H, 38 R, 46 K's, 36 BB

10 million dollars... Lowry:  13 starts, 6-5, 3.46 ERA, 83.1 IP, 76 H, 38 R, 46 K's, 39 BB

Wish Fulfillment by stuffing a ballot box?
We're pushing toward the halfway point of the season, evuhbody...

And Lowry has shown in his young career that he is nothing if not airshot 16-penny nails in the second half.

I could almost understand something like neck-and-neck balloting. But what kind of Weird Sabeanesque Denial makes the multitude vote for Zito in this poll?

Okay now, I get that our desperate GM paid a bargeload of cash for a second Barry and had him floated in Cleopatra-like opulence across the bay to his new home.

That's fanfare. But now we're going to vote for him to virtually do the impossible by overtaking our homegrown lefty in the August ERA wars?

Goofy.

I wonder at your objectivity, guys.
