Curt Schilling on Bonds

I don't even know where to begin with this garbage. Schilling is possibly the biggest moron in the game.

Re: Curt Schilling on Bonds
When does he ever?

Usually I can at least accept it when someone says something I don't agree with. Schilling is just so abrasively misguided it makes me want to put a power drill to my temple. Or better yet, his temple. I am so effing sick of him. If he just stopped existing, the world would be a much better place.

Oh lord here we go again.

Not reading something before commenting on it is bad form, I know, but I can bet you my hypothetical firstborn that it's the same asinine drivel Schilling spouts every time he opens his hyper-opinionated mouth. Know TL;DR (too long; didn't read)? How about TD;DR--too dumb; didn't read?

How does the topic of where Bonds puts his penis have one GD thing to do with anything? Your mileage may vary on views of adultery but HEY GUESS WHAT YOU LOUDMOUTH ASS SCHILLING?! That's not of your business so kindly butt the F out. Christ.

No shit. If he is so mad about Bond's adultery why isn't he commenting on D-Bag Lowe, his former teammate who had a bit of a problem with that. Or for that matter, a significant percentage of professional athletes. Schilling is a moron and I wish he and his fake blooded sock would go away forever.

Quite honestly I don't think Schilling is qualified to comment on the location of Bonds' penis unless it's in his general vicinity.

oh wow, you have no idea what this has sparked.  I have this ongoing fantasy that secretly Schill and Ted Nugent are moslems and that they get together and pray quite often.  It's a detailed recurring dream and quite an awesome one at that.

"He (Bonds) admitted he used steroids. There's no gray area," Schilling said on WEEI. "He (Bonds) admitted cheating on his wife, cheating on taxes and cheating on the game."

Actually, Bonds has never admitted doing any of those things.

Re: HERE IS THE LINK
Thank you. I was wondering if anybody would bring this up: BONDS NEVER ADMITTED TO USING STEROIDS! This is probably the most falsely reported story I've ever seen. In court, Bonds said he never knowingly used steroids, and that Anderson gave him stuff he called flax seed oil and some balm. That's it, he never said that the stuff sctually turned out to be steroids. I believe it was steroids, and I believed Bonds knew it was, but it doesn't matter what I, or anyone else believes, BONDS NEVER ADMITTED TO USING STEROIDS!

I just don't get it how ESPN and every other "news" service reads in the transcript that he said, "I never knowingly used steroids" and then reports "Bonds said he unknowingly used steroids". That's like me saying I've never knowingly had sex with Queen Elizabeth, and it being reported that I admitted to unknowingly having sex with Queen Elizabeth. You would think that someone would call them out on this, but I guess for that to happen there would have to be intelligent, unbiased sports reporter somewhere.

Re: HERE IS THE LINK
Being guilty and admitting guilt are two different things.  I believe he's taken steroids, but the fact of the matter is he has never admitted that he took steroids.  Schilling's statement is factually incorrect.

Re: Curt Schilling on Bonds
I read this earlier this morning and it reminded me a few years ago when Turk Wendell just randomly called out Bonds.

Schilling has nothing to do with Barry, besides maybe pitching to him for 1 game this year. But, this is nothing new for Schilling, he likes to talk.

Whats worse is his personal blog, don't even try to read it, it's full of nothing but fanboys and his moronic writings.

Re: Curt Schilling on Bonds
I have more than a few die-hard Red Sox fan friends living in Boston. I can't explain why or how it happened given my complete loathing for their second-rate team, but it just sort of did. Anywho, they're all clamoring for me to come out there for the Giants series and I'm like, uh, maybe not. I don't think I'd have enough bail money to get me out of jail after inciting a riot at Fenway Park.

I can't talk baseball with either of my Red Sox fan friends.  It usually comes to punches and aluminum bats to the lower body and then accusations that their bloody socks are fake and then they get all offended and talk about how they and their team are so magical.  I can't stand it.

Re: Curt Schilling on Bonds
Here's a question for you all...who's the bigger media whore, Shilling or Clemens?

My money is on Shilling.  Clemens had some talent in his career, and if the Yankees allow him to prop himself up on the pedestal and appear more important than anyone else in the organization, all while vastly overpaying him for it, I'm OK with that.

Shilling though, that douche just needs to shut his born-again fly trap.  Maybe he missed the part in the good book that mentions something like about "Judge not, that you be not judged."

F'ing prick.

Re: Curt Schilling on Bonds
Schilling. The blog, the talk radio, posting on Red Sox fanboards under his "Gehrig" handle. Does anybody remember the 1993 world series when he always put a towel on his head everytime Mitch Williams pitched. I remember after that some of his teammates where saying it was a BS move by Schilling and he was just trying to get more camera time. Say what you want about Bonds but I don't recall him doing something that belies a complete lack of confidence in his teammate. I hate Schilling.

Re: Curt Schilling on Bonds
That towel over the head routine was my first real introduction to Schilling as an asshat. It not only called attention to himself, but in effect, gave Philly fans the go-ahead to heap all of their considerable amount of hate on Williams by saying, "Hey, even I don't trust him and can't bear to watch him pitch, and I'm his teammate!" As you noted, I remember several of his teammates saying that was a terrible way to throw Williams under the bus.

Let's also not forget the grand display he made when his wife got cancer, promising to give up chewing tobacco (a known cause of cancer) forever as a sign of solidarity for her in her fight. he made a very big deal about it at the time, going on every national show he could to talk about it (They don't call him "Red Light Curt" for nothing). Of course, he didn't make nearly as big a deal about the fact that he fell back into using chewing tobacco within a few months. Man, that is some show of solidarity and strength. With that kind will power, determination, and integrity, we'll find a way to beat cancer,,, uh, well, never.

Re: Curt Schilling on Bonds
Schilling by far. He and Clemens are both outstanding pitchers, but Clemens has rarely annoyed me personally. The broken bat throwing incident was a real a-hole move, for example. That's still not as egregious as Schilling's constant babble about everything, thinking we actually give a crap about what he has to say.

Re: Curt Schilling on Bonds
Curt Schilling is just a talented version of Turk Wendell.  Here's an example of someone wanting some attention.  Calling someone else a cheater is just his way of trying to get the bloody sock controversy out of sight and out of mind.  It's unprofessional for him to speak out of line.

This is classic Schilling.

i don't want to bring politics into this, but i mean, come on.  no professional athlete should open his/her mouth to get votes for a Presidential candidate, and he was pretty much on his knees for the Bush administration.

Schill actually starts to blame it on having to wake up at 8:30 in the morning and being tired... Oooo, poor baby. His apology is more extensive than that and he "tries" to make no excuses, but I'm happy to cherry pick for those of us who have to function intelligently after getting up as early as 5:00am on a regular basis (my schedule isn't that bad now, but it once was...).

Kudos to Mike Krukow for blasting Schilly's comments. Can't expect much else from a right-wing extremist conservative "christian" than the verbal diarrhea Schill spews constantly.

Jeers to the media for given his remarks any weight. It is only the beginning of the onslaught Bonds and fans will be bombarded with as he overtakes Aaron as the homerun king.
