ugly mystery line
Quick quiz--identify this mystery pitching line
Here's the line:
22IP, 28H, 18R, 18ER, 14BB, 23K
Is it:
a)My pitching line from my 12 year-old-season with Carlsen VW
b)Armando's pitching line during all games during which "he did his job"?
c)The career line of all pitchers facing Bengie Molina with the bases loaded?
d)Not actually one of those three but insert your own fun answer here.
I'll post the actual (sad) answer here a little later.

Re: ugly mystery line
On a side note, here is my line from my 8th-grade Burlingame Intermediate School team:
.000/.950/.000
0-2, with 38 walks. I didn't keep track of steals, but I had to have at least thirty. I was younger than the rest of the team, and about six inches shorter than the next smallest kid. I went up to the plate and crouched like Rickey Henderson.
It was a very, very, very low-level league; any player with skillz was too busy playing in Pony, Babe Ruth, or American Legion. I was about average for my age group, but totally overmatched against my grade level. Overmatched like a .950 OBP fox!
Don't know why this diary made me think about that. Carry on.

My line from the current Architects and Engineers beer league.
.739/.739/1.522 (2 HR, 3 3b, 6 2b, 6 1b)
Ok...so we don't keep the best of records and these are all guesses on my part, but in three games I've managed to leg a sure homerun or two into a few triples. We're a 6 ball league, so I'm going up hacking...taking a walk in slow-pitch is crap.
The sad thing is that I'm not even one of our better hitters.
This Guy here can rake though. Let me tell you. Not only that, but he's some gold-glove defense out in left field (as usual).

My guess at my retirement year line:
Yes, it was a sad retirement at the age of 12 or so. I was about to go into the next level of baseball, which meant they didn't have to play everyone every game. Which meant I was going to sit on the bench. Anyways I think I got maybe 2 bunt hits all year. And a couple of walks and hit by pitch. But I made a diving catch!

Re: ugly mystery line
And just for the record, for VW I hit .683/.743/.917 as a 12-year old. With 34/35 SB line. I was super-Ichiro (at least until they moved the bases 90 feet apart in Babe Ruth).
