Another Lincecum Mechanical diagnosis

Hey everyone,

on MLB.com there is a video discussion of Lincecum's mechanics, I don't know how to post a link of it since its a video.

Some points covered:

  • Comparisons to Oswalt and Koufax
  • Hip/Back Torque
  • Arm Speed
  • Quick grading of his Fastball/Curve/Change
  • The guy says that the major injury concern stems from the fact that he has so many moving parts that if he were to accidentilly alter any part of his motion it could really hurt him and brought up that he hurt his back swinging a bat in college. He graded his changeup as a "show me" pitch and says that he control is a major problem at this point. Given that he's only walked 2 total batters in his last 2 starts I don't think his control is as much of a problem as some people think. Also I think his changeup is much better than a show me pitch after seeing the Astros look foolish against it the second time through the order in the first game he pitched against them.

Anyway, some interesting things and its awesome to see a Giants player not named Bonds getting so much attention.
