The recent rash of unfairly benched and booed baseball players made me realize: one could field a contending lineup at a discount using severely undervalued players.
The list below contains players who meet one or more of the following criteria:
-spending an unnecessary amount of time in the minor leagues
-being forced to platoon or otherwise share playing time with an inferior player
-regularly booed by fans and/or called out by the local media or front office.
2B-Chris Burke
3B-Edwin Encarnacion
1B-Adam Dunn
LF-Pat Burrell
RF-Matt Murton
C- Chris Ianetta/Yorvit Torrealba (both deserve a longer leash than they've been given)
SS-Jason Bartlett
CF-Brian Anderson
Bench:
Chris Shelton-1B/C
Ron Belliard-2B/3B
Most of the Dodgers farm system (Loney, Kemp)
Pitching is a little harder, but certainly these guys are not being given enough chances, and are likely being blocked by inferior players.
SP- Brett Myers
SP- Matt Garza
RP- Colter Bean
Any other ideas?
