Giants finally add more power

The most powerful source of power in our solar system, in fact -- AT&T Park is adding solar panels. The power won't go to the stadium, though -- it'll be dumped back onto PG&E's grid. Kudos, in any case.

Perhaps more relevantly:

Despite the Giants' addition, opposing pitchers still plan to pitch around Bonds.

Maybe management thought Sunny Kim was a clean cheap source of energy instead of a cheap band-aid for the bullpen.

...I got nothing.

Strikeouts are boring. Besides that, they're fascist. Not boring: Emmanuel Burriss. Not fascist: SF Dugout

Don't come the cowboy with me, Sunny Kim!
No particular relevance, I've just been wanting to use that line for a while now.

Solar panels in San Francisco?  Better than in Seattle, I guess.

they don't make fog panels, yet.
We'd be pretty good if we didn't suck so bad.

Let's just hope they don't reinstall those suck panels from last year.....sorry, I'll just go back to drinking now.

Re: Giants finally add more power
Wachs would not say how much the project is costing PG&E. He said that no ratepayer money or taxpayer funds will be used, and that funding will come from PG&E shareholders.

As long as it doesn't cost the team (or me) any money, then I'm alright with it. Of course, I'm not a PG&E shareholder.

We'd be pretty good if we didn't suck so bad.

Re: Giants finally add more power
How much do the Giants get for allowing an addition to the park that benefits neither the team nor the league?

It's good for the city, and very cool as a thing, but we've got debt here people. Can't be letting these things slide without a FEE.

Re: Giants finally add more power
I'm sure the local utility district is giving them some scratch if they're putting a decent chunk of juice back into the system.  Maybe a minimal discount on their power bills?  Who knows.

Also, there are some substantial tax credits for businesses that invest in solar energy that started in 2006.

Will PG & E post a sign keeping track of "Panel Hits"?
For just pennies a day, you too can make a difference in the life of a Giants player...like Kevin Correia.
