Joss Whedon is in pre-production for a new series, Dollhouse, with, of all studios, Fox (aka @&^%ing Fox). Eliza Dushku slated to star. Everything, of course, is on hold, owing to the writers' strike.

The early wild speculation was that Marsters was going to be one of her fellow "dolls" in the series, but those involved remain pretty straighforward about not wanting to cast Whedon regulars as regulars.

Personally, I'm most looking forward to the eventual two episode Nick Brendan guest arc! It's gotta happen. Doesn't it? Doesn't it?

Homeboy needs a bacon sandwich.

And since I can't stand anything in the Whedonverse outside Firefly and Serenity, and since Eliza Dushku annoys the everloving hell out of me, I think I may have to pass on this new series.

Democracy is lovely but baseball is more mature. BVCE supports Manny Burriss and SF Dugout.

I don't usually care much for the cross medium follow ups (all the buffy/angel/firefly crap graphic novels that have been coming out, even if the're good), but I might be picking one up sometime in the future, as it looks like Shepherd Books's story will be told in comic form.

The whole graphic novel follow up has always just felt like a weird way to keep something alive that had generally completed itself, and that has always held true even for the Firefly stuff (the story they told is done, even if some details are still mysteries), but this actually has to do with those details so it doesn't seem as extraneous somehow....
