I love the fact your tongue was firmly planted in your cheek when you wrote the subject.
I lived in New York for 15 years and I can vouch for the fact that Chris Russo is a fervent Giant fan and defended them with the same passion whenever a caller challenged him as to why he didn't give his loyalty to the Mets and Yankees before a team on the left coast.

Giants games are on LATE in NY. Man, you'd have to be a real, real, real fan to stay attached. And this guy has stayed attached, and watched them. And he is threatening not to do so anymore. I sure do hope that Sabean somehow listens to that interview.

Re: mad dog russo quietly explains why timmy canno
That's true. I know because I wouldn't go to bed until around 2 in the morning just to get a final score (via ESPN) even if the game wasn't being broadcast in NYC.

This trade is not only wrong, not only wronger it's wrongest! (psst, I know grammar, just my pathetic attempt at humor in the face of a tragedy).

Re: Cain Vs. Lincecum
Ok, here's my take.  Ted Robinson said something along the lines of, "...they will not move Cain.  He so impressed them with the way he handled what happened this past year...(Cain's) makeup is so advanced."

Before I make my point, a few disclaimers:  Cain does seem very very very poised on the mound...which is huge.  Also, Cain enduring the 16 losses despite a top 10 ERA probably builds gobs of character and it seems like Cain used that to fuel his determination instead of discouragement.

Still, this is the type of absolute garbage that goes through Sabeans head.  Cain and Lincecum, Lincecum and Cain...lets not worry about who's got more talent...lets value Cain higher because he had a shittier W-L record and didn't freak out and start crying on the mound.  Somebody slap Brian Sabean.  Cain is fabulous, dont get me wrong...and if you wanna value him higher than Lincecum, by all means go for it, the support for that argument certainly exists.  BUT, don't back it up by saying its because Cain had a tough year and avoided crapping his pants in August!!!1!

Here's to Kemp, Loney, LaRoche, Hu, and Kershaw not panning out.

Re: Cain Vs. Lincecum
The organization does listen to its fans. It's paying fans.

As long as they keep selling out on season tickets, they have no impetus to change.

Fool me seven times, shame on you. Fool me eight or more times, shame on me.

Re: Cain Vs. Lincecum
I was amazed all year that Cain just pitched his heart out and never blew a fuse at the offense.  If Tomko could have done that with the Giants, and just worried about the aspect of the game he COULD control, he might have done better here.

Re: mad dog russo quietly explains why timmy canno
So, not only would Sabean get roasted by the local media(except for Kawakami and the yes men over at KNBR), but also the fans over in New York will get their fill of Sabean hate through Chris Russo and his 6 HOUR radio show that reaches millions in New York. Sabean, demand a huge overpayment from the Jays, or just politely say NO!

Wait a Minute!
Did I miss something?  Everybody is all of a sudden talking like this trade is a done deal.  What's the scoop?  Do we have some inside info that an announcement is imminent?

Re: Wait a Minute!
Nah, it's pretty much the same stuff. Nothing new has been reported yet.

Re: Wait a Minute!
Yeah, I think people that are letting Sabean have it now won't have anything left in the tank if the trade actually goes through.

Re: mad dog russo quietly explains why timmy canno
I notice the Giants mailbag has a letter from a certain Chris R. from New York (saying pretty much the same thing).

Even if they don't make the trade, though, that the front office is even considering it scares the hell out of me. Hopefully this is just another Sabean dry hump.
