There has been a lot of jostling between internet sports sites with respect to journalists. Rick Reilly, Dan Patrick, Mike Silver, etc. I found it pretty interesting that ESPN signed Fainaru-Wada. I found it interesting because I thought most of his work was done already. Not that he couldn't go out and do new stuff, but he's sort of been typecast as the Balco guy. Then, less than a week after he's hired by ESPN.com, Barry gets indicted. I'll bet Mark F-W knew the indictment was coming and ESPN.com brought him on for this reason as well as to dig through the debris left after the Mitchell report. What's your take? Am I too Mel Gibson from Conspiracy Theory, or pointing out the obvious?
