FanFest Autographs?
as the mayor said earlier, the fanfest pretty much sucked. sure they had the right players, booths, and such but no organization. the autograph lines were outrageous, i ended up waiting around 3 hours for Fred Lewis and Erick Threets while i hear Zito and Cain were at a table with 2 other players! so i was wondering if any of you actually had a good experience with getting autographs/or meeting a player.

Re: FanFest Autographs?
Luckily, the players stayed past 3:05, and I got Jon Miller, Dave Roberts, Patrick Misch, and Scott Munter.
I was a nervous wreck in front of Dave, and managed to babble out a thank you, and then after two more people signed, I adoisajda'd "can I shake your hand?" He was cool though, and has the most readable signature out of the 4 that I got.

Little help please.
I think I can understand an autographed picture or signed artwork, or keeping a letter, note, invitation or other keepsake But a signature from a stranger for signature's sake, is something I really do not understand.
If you are into collecting autographs, do you collect anything else? Anything outside of baseball? Or just sports stuff?
What do you do with autographs after you get them? Do you put them in a scrap book? Do you have an autograph book that you keep them in?

Re: Little help please.
What I don't understand is buying something with an autograph on it. The whole point of having an autograph is that you can brag to everyone that you met so and so. But to by something already signed...just don't understand that.

Re: Little help please.
Now, when I meet someone with some level of fame, it's personally more rewarding to just shake hands and thank them for their (music, playing ability, etc.) and have that interaction rather than, "Hey, can you sign this? I'm a big fan." I really do think that the memorabilia market and the eBay generation also made it all lose its luster. It truly isn't like the old days.
