The field was all torn up, so the Giants decided to hold the FanFest primarily on the main concourse. Brilliant. The booths and events stuck out into the "walk"way, so that it was a guaranteed jam of people moving very slowly. Things were horribly marked-- where were the autograph booths? Where was KNBR broadcasting from?
What the hell were the (cough) planners thinking? Didn't they expect a few thousand people? Didn't they know that if you clog the only walkway with all the events, it's going to produce a nearly unmoveable mass? And what exactly was the thinking in cranking the volume of the radio feed to the absolute maximum that the San Andreas Fault could withstand?
Horrible time. Thanks for ruining yet another good idea with half-assed execution.
