Heartwarming story of how Bonds helped Durham figure out how to hit better: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2006/09/07/GIANTSNOTES.TMP&feed=rss.giants
All I got to say is: what took so freaking long? Durham has been here since 2003, that's four seasons, and Bonds chose to help him in his 4th year here? Or was Durham just stubborn headed and wouldn't listen to Bonds until he was deeply struggling this year? Either way, it took way too long for this to happen.
And while he's at it, why don't he learn Feliz some patience? Or get Winn hitting again. Or throw Niekro a bone. Or, better, get Finley hitting again. Does he want to win it all now or what? He's only got one or two seasons, at best, left. Just teach the whole damn team.
And definitely, he should be hired to be the roving batting instructor and BE the living embodiment and example of how the Giants want their prospects to hit.
