Miguel Cabrera

Miguel Cabrera seems to like Felipe, enough to play for him even. My question is, which players/prospects would you be willing to give up? Assuming that the Marlin's are willing to change their longstated opinion of not dealing him.

Re: Miguel Cabrera
That ought to quell much of the clamor for Miquel's services around these parts. Sounds like a pretty smart guy to me.
What would I give up for him? Not Cain. Everyone else is a possibility.

Re: silliness...
soriano's gonna sign a $12-15M contract this offseason. That's getting close to Bonds money, and he's not nearly worth it, even in this, the best year of his career. Cabrera = better, cheaper, less of a dick... harder to get, of course, but I'd rather add nobody than Alfonso Soriano.

Re: Miguel Cabrera
As far as hitters go, it would be a lot easier if EME wasn't banged up again, he would be obvious, he is considered one of the elite hitters in the minors and is a local boy for Florida. One prospect analysis book rated him the 94th best prospect in 2006, ahead of Jason Kubel, Ian Kinsler, and Josh Barfield. By position, he was 22nd. And for top batting average, there was no ranking (that is, no numbers, but strangely not listed alphabetically, which implies a ranking) but he was listed with hitters like Howie Kendrick, Conor Jackson, Daric Barton, Jason Kubel, Jeremy Hermida, Justin Upton, Stephen Drew, Delmon Young, Jones Loney, and Andre Ethier. So he is considered an elite hitter.
I think if EME wasn't injured, they might take him, Lowry, one of our relievers (Valdez? Plus they can use relief help), plus Pedro Feliz (to take Cabrera's place at 3B) and some money to offset Feliz' salary. Well, not injured and Lowry pitching better, he has got to be scaring people with his lack of strikeouts.

Re: Miguel Cabrera
I don't know about you, but, I could do without any of that on my Giants. Sounds like another AJ in the making, with the prospects we would have to give up for a headache.
