Anybody listen to the wrap last night

It was hilarious!  Miller picked Armando for his player of the game, talked about how in the last week or so, him and Armando had become quite close.

The whole time, Kruk is pissing his pants laughing.

IT WAS AWESOME.
Miller said "Well, I'm going to pick my buddy, Armando Benitez." Funniest thing I ever heard in my life.

Re: Anybody listen to the wrap last night
Benitez should never have taken on Miller.  In that battle of wits, Benitez is unarmed.

While we're on the subject of Benitez, I was at the game and noticed the stadium radar gun had him at 97 mph on at least one pitch.  Was the TV showing a similar reading?  Was anything said about Armando's velocity?

Ironically clever comment.

Re: Anybody listen to the wrap last night
If I'm not mistaken, FSN Bay Area's gun had Armando at around 90-92.

Re: Anybody listen to the wrap last night
I had him on my Jugs at 48mph...pure ched.  Velocity is overrated.   You try it some time

Re: Anybody listen to the wrap last night
Yes, he was mostly at 90-92, but did have one at 97 - unless the radar gun shorted out.  I thought it was a damned good outing by Benitez.

Re: Anybody listen to the wrap last night
The stadium gun had him ranging through the 90s w/the fastball. I think the strike-3-looking to Anderson was 94. He also threw a guh-nasty 80 MPH split that Napoli missed by a couple of feet. Given that he's only pitched twice a week for the past few weeks, the improvement is dramatic.

I think we need to give his goatee another chance.

I think we need to trade hime while he is worth more then the gum on the bottom of my shoe. If he pitches at all well, dump him for pennies on the dollar at the deadline and thank the baseball gods for their compassion.

Re: Anybody listen to the wrap last night
Who is stupid enough to take him and his salary?
besides us that is.

he's a guy who has always pitched with both hands around his throat--even when he succeeds. If he doesn't have his A+++++++ stuff, he falls apart like a cheap card house.

in all honesty, if he had feliz' temperment, he could be killer.  he's a worrywart, always looking over his shoulder.  just the wrong kind of guy for alou's system of mangling a pitching staff.

"he's a worrywart, always looking over his shoulder."
